"Had a pool liner replaced and what a GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! From Sara and Christy in the office to Mike, Gavin and Yoti of the install crew. Just a fantastic group of professional, knowledgeable, hard working people. The girls went above and beyond in researching the correct liner and supplies that I needed to provide and the install crew weathered a 100 degree heat factor and provided the ultimate install. Refreshing to experience genuine A-1 customer service. Pardon me if I have any names misspelled. I sincerely appreciate the fantastic effort of everyone involved!"

"We are trying to find somebody to put a pool in. We called the one that Angie's List recommended and it is called Dig-M-Installers. I went to get the pool and the pool wasn't there. They didn't have the pool's parts. The other company is guaranteeing me that they will have it by the time Dig-M-Installers has scheduled the appointment. We got the quote from Dig-M-Installers. We got the paper work and everything from Dig-M-Installers. My wife got them from Angie's List. Their normal quote is 1029 dollars. I am getting a discount because it is before some date. I am getting it for 928. They are knocking off a 100 dollars. It was the only one on Angie's List and when we went on the phone book a lot of them sounded shaky. We took for granted that the one that Angie's List has was very good. The people that I came in contact with were very kind and very courteous. I saw an older man but to me they are all young as I am 70 years old. He was in his 40s and he was very nice. He was explaining to me how they would like to put it in, where they would like to put it, which would be the best situation where it won't cost me more money to have it done. They are very nice and clean. So far it is real good. They were very professional. Considering responsiveness, they were right back, right away. With this one man so far, it was very professional. I am waiting for them to install a pool and that is the next situation. I will know better once they install a pool."

Hi! The cost to refinish a standard 5ft tub in white or off white, would be $399. This assumes that the tub is not a jetted tub has not been done before (if it has, it will need to be stripped, add $100); and that the tub is in good shape structurally (no leaks, major cracks, or drainage issues). If this is a clawfoot tub, the above would apply to the inside only. To include the tub surround or if this is a 1pc fiberglass enclosure unit, add $250. If the work is different (sinks, counters, tile work etc.) we will need details and pictures, if you can. We'll get you a quote quickly. Our tubs come with a 5 year warranty, the job can take up to 4-5 hours to do, and cures in 16 hours to use. We use an acrylic urethane called GlassTech9000 and we also do the caulking, when applicable. We've been in business almost 50 years, refinished over 200,000 tubs, and have an A+ rating with the BBB. Call or email if you need any further info. Have a great day, we appreciate your interest! Thanks! Tom

"Izabella responded to an internet inquiry when another contractor did not.  She came over quickly, discussed the job in detail and scheduled the job quickly.  Throughout the process she was repeatedly in touch keeping us posted and answering questions.  She suggested some changes in the decorative tile which we liked.  The total elapsed time was less than a week.  The pool looks great."

"Placed a call to B & M Pools on Saturday afternoon. Mark returned my call on Sunday he just happened to be in the neighborhood and said that he could come over today and take a look at the problem to see if he could unseize the motor. Mark was able to unseize the motor and provided me with some helpful pool hints for future maintenamce. In addition, Mark went to three locations to find the lowest cost for the impellar. I plan to continue using B & M Pools for all of my future pool maintenance."

"I hired Rovase to handle several large projects around my hilly property (just under 1 acre not far from Valley Forge Park). Robert, the Rovase owner, listened carefully when I described my landscaping preferences. I soon learned that his entire crew was listening closely, as well.

I explained that I like a more natural looking landscape, rather than a carefully manicured design. I emphasized that "perfect" and "symmetry" don't work for me. For that reason I'd asked Robert to bring about 25 small boulders to my property to reinforce a retaining wall of boulders that was started but never properly finished by another well known professional (and inept) landscaper, years ago.

Robert's crew did much more then reinforce the old wall; they reconstructed it. They pulled out the original 12 or 15 boulders, put down heavy landscaping fabric, then replaced the original boulders and added the new ones. They extended the wall to the full length of the bank, thus preventing the continued erosion of soil that began immediately after the original waste-of-my-money landscaper installed his faulty version of a retaining wall.

Rovase cleared out all of the weeds and volunteer saplings that had sprouted (due to at least five years of neglect) on the bank and throughout my property and planted about 30 ferns, shrubs, and flowering plants as I directed. They even took care to ensure that the best, fullest side of each planting faced out, which NO other landscaper ever did for me.

I must admit that in their effort to clean things up, they removed a few small existing plantings that I did not intend to lose, but I partially fault myself because I didn't tell them to leave those items intact. The guys restored as many of those plants as they could, and I feel that they made up for that minor loss by going the extra mile on so many other parts of this enormous project.

I asked Rovase to use stone instead of mulch to cover this steep bank. I opted for the extra cost of stone to preclude the mandatory annual mulch restoration. Besides that, I needed something more substantial than mulch to stop the perpetual erosion on that steep pitch.

The team also dug a long trench across the back of my yard and filled it with more stone to channel and manage the runoff water coming from the home behind me, further uphill. This  will prevent further damage to the foundation of my detached garage, which has born the brunt of countless post-rainstorm rivers rushing through my backyard for the past several years, presumably due to an uphill neighbor's modified drainage. (Hmmm. . . thanks neighbor.)

I also asked Rovase to create a small path behind my mailbox so that I could access my mail without stepping on to my busy road. That required digging out a large section of the sloping bank leading down to my mailbox. I expected that to be a difficult excavation but they did it in very short order; before I knew it, my days of risking my life to get my mail was a thing of the past.

This short new mailbox path gave me evidence that the Rovase team really listened to my speech about preferring a natural, non-manicured look. One of the guys digging out the bank behind the mailbox came across several broad, flat stones under all of the earth he moved. He took the initiative to situate those stones in a line behind my mailbox, creating a lovely, natural looking path.

He then called me to review his idea, saying he thought the stone might save me money AND suit my preference for imperfection better than the pavers I expected to buy for the path. I was (and still am) giddy over how perfectly his solution suits me.

What really amazed me and sold me on Rovase? They listen AND care!!

They all worked hard, moving a LOT of stone and boulder material up my hill, but I didn't catch the slightest indication of complaint from anyone. Each fellow was smiling, cheerful, polite, and dedicated to customer satisfaction. It was truly an impressive group of guys.

All in all, I am impressed with the quality of the work and the thoughtfulness of the workers from Rovase. I would and will hire them again for future landscaping needs. Also, because the company does other kinds of general contracting and building, I will solicit help from Rovase on other non-landscaping projects in the future.

Install Above Ground Pools questions, answered by experts

It’s fair to be concerned about handling pool lights or wiring in a pool filled with water. But fortunately, pool lights and swimming pools are designed to make it easy and safe to replace the lights without needing to drain the water. Instead, you can turn off the electricity to the pool as a safety precaution, unscrew the pool fixture, pull it up and out to the side of the pool, then change the bulb.

Pools and pool equipment tend to go on sale in the fall to make room for the next year’s inventory. That means if you’re looking for the lowest cost to install a pool in your outdoor space, you should start looking in the fall rather than the summer. You’ll save money and be ready to dive in during the warm months next year.

The popular 12-by-24-foot oval above ground pool is ideal for a family of four or a group of four to five people at most. This above ground pool size is popular for balancing space in a backyard and easy use and leaves room for designing a pool deck or patio.

You can find a leak in an in-ground pool by doing a visual check, the bucket test, and a dye test. Keep in mind that skimmers are usually the culprit for in-ground pool leaks. However, if you cannot detect the leak location after running the tests, it’s a good idea to call in a professional pool repair service.

Yes, you can put too much shock in a pool, and it is crucial to follow the directions on the product you are using. Adding excess shock can upset the chemical balance, make the water cloudy, have adverse effects on swimmers, damage pool equipment or surfaces, and even encourage certain types of algae to grow. If you have over-shocked your pool, perform a water test and adjust the chemicals as necessary. The pool's chemical balance will eventually return to normal as the excess chlorine dissipates over time.
