Small jobs welcome

"I can't say enough positive things about the service Paul provided. He was the first one to respond to my request and was accommodating in scheduling a date and time to take care of the problem. He contacted me prior to the scheduled time to let me know he had an emergency call and would be late and said he would contact me when he was on his way. He did and arrived within an hour of the scheduled time. Great communication. Once on sight, he put drop cloths down to cover my wood floors, inspected the area and determined where the clog was. All toll, he was here for about an hour and my waste water is now flowing out to the sewer as it is supposed to. When the job was done the area was left clean. Paul and his apprentice were very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Paul did what he was hired to do, which he did very well, and his costs didn't break the bank. I won't hesitate to call them again should the need arise. I would highly recommend Ace Electric Sewer Service if you should have a similar problem. A++++++++"

"I had plumbing leaks in a couple of places, but the men that did the work went above and beyond by replacing every component involved top to bottom to ensure there would be no leaks for a long time to come. Very satisfied with the quality of work as well as how quickly it was done."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

It's advisable to have your sewer line inspected every three to five years to ensure its proper functioning and detect any potential issues early on. However, the frequency of inspections can vary based on factors such as the age of your sewer system, the type of pipes used, and your property's location. If you notice any warning signs like slow drains, foul odors, or sewage backups, it's essential to schedule an inspection promptly, regardless of the regular maintenance schedule.

There is conflicting advice on whether to leave a baking soda and vinegar mixture in a drain overnight. Some sources suggest it can be effective for tough clogs, recommending that you flush the drain with warm water in the morning as part of a monthly cleaning routine. However, other experts advise against leaving the mixture in for extended periods, as its caustic nature could corrode drainpipes if used too often or left in for too long.

You could be smelling sewer gas in your kitchen because of a dry P-trap, clogged vent pipe, or leaking plumbing seals. If you smell a rotten egg odor, check your sink’s P-trap and plumbing connections first. A clogged or damaged vent pipe can trap sewer gas and push it back into your kitchen through the plumbing pipes. Loose or deteriorated seals around drainpipes can also allow sewer gas to leak out. If you can’t find the source, call a local plumber for expert help.

The type of clog in your sewer main determines the required cleaning method. Different types or methods of sewer main cleaning require various tools like chemicals, mechanical removal, or a combination of both. Some of the most common types of sewer main line cleaning include:

  • Minor debris removal: $100–$600

  • Tree root removal: $100–$1,000

  • Trenchless pipe repair: $60–$250 per linear foot

  • General line repairs: $1,000–$4,000

  • Full pipe replacement: $3,000–$25,000

The cost to repair a main sewer line clog is about $3,110 on average. The average cost range is  $1,310 to $4,950, but it can go as low as $215 and as high as $9,300 or more. The cost factors for this repair include the severity of the clog, pipe accessibility, video inspection, removal method, permits, pipe material, labor rates in your area, and time of year. Repairs made from outside during the winter can be more difficult due to the frozen ground or during the spring if the ground is saturated from a lot of rain and snow melt.
