"Brian was very friendly and professional. He did an excellent job of grinding down 3 twelve-inch shrub stumps. He took great care to protect the side of my house, and filled in the stump holes and raked the area afterwards. He also gave me a very competitive quote for doing the work. I couldn't be happier with his work. I highly recommend him!"

"They were fast and effiicient...owner personable and willing to work with you!! Yard was somewhat protected with panels that they laid down for their trucks to have access to the yard. I had some concerns about yard but owner was reassuring and coming back in the Spring to seed any part of lawn affected by the equipment. Very happy overall would recommend anyone to use them."

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

Many tools are effective in helping you remove hedges. While heavy machinery is likely the best option for making quick work of hedge removal, your trusty hand spade shovel is probably the next best. Use a spade shovel to dig around the hedge and break roots as you go with the tool. Your spade is also useful for getting deep underneath the root ball, so you can insert a pry bar to help lift the plant.

Trees that provide a habitat to bats and an abundance of bugs—their main food source—will attract bats to your yard. Because the North American landscape has changed so much in recent years, bats have a harder time finding trees with cavities to shelter in. If your yard has a dead or dying tree with a lot of sun exposure, bats will likely be drawn to it because trees with those features are less common.

Dormant seasons like fall and winter are the best times to dig up plants, including holly bushes. Plants aren’t growing during these seasons, so the removal process goes a lot quicker. Consider hiring a landscaping team to handle holly bush removal during the cold-weather months for off-season pricing deals, too.

An herbicide with glyphosate, imazapyr, or triclopyr kills ivy the fastest. Herbicides inhibit photosynthesis and cell division. They kill the roots and prevent ivy from regrowing. You should apply herbicide to the cut stems and roots of ivy. You can also spray herbicide on the leaves of ivy, but be sure not to spray nearby trees and plants as it can cause them harm.

Using a truck to remove a bush falls into the category of “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.” While it is possible to use a truck to pull out a bush, if you don’t have the right equipment, if you’re not familiar with attaching things to your vehicle correctly, or if you don’t have enough room, it’s a risky option. To prevent damage to your vehicle, it’s worth using tools made for the job of digging and cutting roots instead.
