"We had an exceptional experience with DC Tree. From the first phone call to the final cleanup, their team was professional, responsive, and incredibly skilled. They removed several large trees safely and efficiently, and the entire property was left spotless afterward. What really stood out was there attention to detail, communication, and respect for our property. It’s not easy finding contractors you can fully trust, but this company exceeded our expectations in every way. Outstanding service from start to finish!"

"I talked to Brian Friday afternoon and explained that I wanted to surprise my husband to get rid of a big ugly tree stump in front of our house.. I asked if he could do it the next day and he said he was going to try. Brian showed up Saturday midday and took care of the stump and a lot of long roots. He did a great job. I would call him again and definitely recommend him to all my friends."

"We found Nick to be very easy to work with and our job (a VERY large tree stump) was scheduled within just a few days after we contacted him. The services he performed for us were reasonably priced and we couldn't be more pleased with how everything looked after completion."

"Ralph called me back promptly after requesting tree service work through home advisor. Ralph set up a time to meet and estimate the job in person. right off the bat he was professional and seemed excited about the job. Having been in the tree service myself for years prior to me owning my own home I usually would do all the work myself but this tree was a little above my comfort level and not having the proper equipment to finish myself. With that being said, Ralph did not treat me like he knew more than me and that it was his way or the highway. His quote was extremely reasonable and a fraction of other quotes for the same job. Ralph got finished another tree job earlier than expected and was able to tackle mine a week early. I wasn't at home when the work was done but Ralph went above and beyond moving items in my yard to protect them. he cut down another tree that I had been wanting to remove as well for no charge as we were going to use that tree as protection for my driveway from the original tree being cut down across it. Ralph dropped both trees, cleaned up all branches and logs and left them neatly where we had discussed prior. As he was leaving I had asked him about another large limb that was overhanging my yard if he was able to cut that down as well. without even being offered more money Ralph and his helper were up the tree cutting down that same limb without a question of completing it. If anyone is looking to have tree work done, without a doubt give Ralph and Good Times Property a call. You will not be disappointed. extremely above and beyond work!!"

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Stump grinding consists of removing the visible part of the stump, but the roots remain intact. Depending on the tree and root system, the roots may still grow after stump grinding. If you are concerned about root growth and damage, you may want to consider having a stump removed completely.

The best tool to cut trees is a chain saw. You can adjust your chain saw to the correct size based on the size of the branches, offering you the fastest and cleanest cut for medium- to large-sized trees. Depending on the type of chainsaw you use, you can cut through larger trees than you would with a more manual tool like an ax.

For Bradford pears, damage from storms is common, and if the trunk splits, it can pose a danger to people and surrounding structures. The best thing to do in that instance is to have the tree removed. If there’s only minor damage to the branches, pruning away the damaged parts is the first order of business. You may also want to consult a professional arborist to make sure the tree is healthy.

The exact answer to this question depends on which region of the country you’re talking about, but according to various tree counts, some of the most common types of trees in the United States include red maple, Douglas fir, quaking aspen, loblolly pine, and sweetgum.

A tree growing close to a house can pose several risks, but removal isn't always the only or best solution. Potential problems include roots growing into the foundation and causing structural cracks, branches damaging the roof or promoting moss growth, and debris clogging gutters, which can lead to water damage. Trees can also provide access for pests and encourage mold. However, a small, healthy tree may not be a problem, and for larger, established trees, strategic trimming can be a cheaper and more beneficial alternative to removal. It is generally recommended to take action for trees within 10 to 20 feet of your home, especially if they are unhealthy or encroaching. Your best bet is to consult a professional arborist who can assess the specific situation and provide expert advice.
