Thank you so much for considering Zuck Painting during this important process of choosing the right company to paint your home! We are a fully licensed and insured professional painting company committed to growing from your satisfaction. With over 10 years of combined management and painting experience, we believe that we have what it takes to handle any job. The painting market is filled with contractors. Some of them have very high overhead costs in order to pay high management salaries, accelerate marketing and growth, and pay corporate royalty fees. Others may be smaller and lower priced, but may not have the network or manpower to meet deadlines and provide cadillac service. At Zuck Painting, we believe that we fall in the middle: our pricing is fair and competitive, we have enough manpower to work on multiple jobs and meet all customer needs, and just enough management to service all requests. Some of the benefits of choosing us are as follows: 1. Low 20% down payment - other contractors charge between 30%-50%. 2. 100% Job satisfaction - we will not ask for ANY partial or final payments until our homeowners have walked around the site and are fully satisfied. 3. Quality Guarantee - We will guarantee the quality of our workmanship for 2 years for 2 coats of paint. 4. Experience - Everyone in our company has experience working on jobs ranging from $300 - $1,000,000. We have worked for homeowners, contractors, and large corporations. We have the experience and skills to problem solve anything and handle any type of job. 5. Detailed Proposals - Our scopes are very well defined in writing and your end product will be completely predictable before the job even starts.

"I hired this company for painting my kitchen cabinets and was very upset with the service I received. From the beginning communication was poor, I was not told any updates and my house was left unlocked everyday with lights left on after the team left. When the project was done I had to have them come back to fix the overspray and paint splatter on my walls. My stove and counters were not covered when painting resulting in paint getting into these surfaces. The painting edges on all cabinets and on the trim was messy and all over the place in which I was told to wipe off with a cloth. My basement was left a mess and the painters helped themself to pieces of wood they assumed was scrape to use as painting supports- they ended up being pieces of a personal project I was working on. My wood floors were scratched by them trying to remove paint from my floors. At the end of this I was told this was normal practice and to hire a cleaning crew. Felt disrespected during this entire project."

Painting questions, answered by experts

If you skip using a primer before painting brick, you risk ending up with a blotchy paint job that won’t last as long. Because of the natural variations in brick, paint can adhere and dry unevenly to different spots. When you use a primer, you put a neutralizing layer between the brick and the paint, evening the texture and color. Without a good primer, paint can also flake off in spots, come out blotchy, and wear away more easily.

The number of paint coats you should apply varies by project, but many jobs call for two coats of paint. Make sure you let the first coat fully dry according to the manufacturer’s instructions before applying that second coat. Luckily, paint from a sprayer dries rather quickly due to the nature of the fine mist created by the sprayer.

Yes, cinder blocks must be primed before painting. Without primer, your paint won't stick to the surface of the blocks. You should use a bonding and filling primer which fills all of the small pores of your blocks. Once the primer dries, you'll have a smoother surface to work with and your paint will stick easily to the blocks.

Limewash paint does not require sealing in the traditional sense. Unlike other paints, limewash forms a breathable, matte finish that evaporates moisture from the surface. However, a sealer or topcoat adds protection or durability. It can help enhance the paint's dirt, moisture, and abrasion resistance. Sealing limewash may alter its appearance, potentially affecting its natural matte finish. Therefore, whether to seal limewash depends on the project's specific requirements and desired aesthetic outcome.

Barns and barndominiums are most commonly painted red, like barns depicted in movies and paintings. The practice of painting barns red dates back to America’s colonial days, when new farmers would borrow the European practice of mixing linseed oil with ferrous oxide to coat the barns in order to protect them from the elements, leaving the structures with a red color.
