"i desperately needed gutter cleaning the day before a major storm. I spoke with Dave initially and he worked with me to make it possible and sent out his crew by the afternoon to my house. His crew was so professional and worked very hard to make sure that all the work was done for me and they cleaned up and got rid of all the mess. This company could not have been nicer and helpful. I highly recommend them and am thankful that I found their business."

"Reis Tree work is a landscaping company that performs many different things and has helped me over the years with tree work, planting, mulching and general landscaping. The team was very professional and cleaned up the areas very nicely. For tree work that was done, all logs were nicely stacked where you asked them to put them. Highly recommend"

"He offered to powerwash my house, gutter edges, concrete floor of front porch for $250. He also wanted to show me how my deck would look if he powerwashed it, too, and actually powerwashed the entire thing. I asked him how much did it cost to powerwash the deck and he said, no worry, if I wanted to add something it was up to me. He was alone doing this all himself and stopped only to change nozzles and attachments. He powerwashed my house, trim, the porch floor, a plastic shed that had green algae on it, my deck, walk, and another concrete pad that I put my trash cans on. He also got on my roof and removed some fallen limbs and leaves that collected in recesses. I wrote him a check for $400 and still wasn't sure I gave him what he earned, he did that great a job. I plan to hire him again."

"Juliano was very responsive and receptive of ideas I had for the project. The work done turned out the way I wanted and was able to do it within my price range. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the cleanup afterwards. There was more saw dust leftover than I anticipated. Regardless, I would recommend and would hire again for further projects."

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

There are a variety of second-story deck privacy ideas depending on your budget and aesthetic. For starters, you might consider fencing or tall privacy railing that masks a good portion of the open deck. A pergola or an awning can provide additional cover and shade. Outdoor curtains are an easy way to add or remove privacy at your convenience, plus they’re a wallet-friendly way to decorate your deck.

Expect to spend around $10,000 to $11,000 to replace a 20-by-20-foot deck. Using high-end materials like composite or exotic hardwoods can drive up the cost, as can custom features and design elements. You can also expect to pay more than average if your deck replacement requires a site evaluation or if you need the work done during the busy season.

In most cases, there should be a small gap between the house and the deck, usually no more than ½ to ¾ of an inch. This space allows water and moisture to flow through instead of pooling against the side of your house. It also lets flashing protect your siding from runoff, which is one of the most common issues with decks.

It depends on the type of wood. The average cost to build a deck out of pressure-treated lumber is $15 to $25 per square foot, but more affordable varieties such as bamboo and cedar cost less at around $3 to $10 per square foot. However, when comparing the cost of vinyl decking versus wood decking, it’s important to also consider ongoing maintenance costs. For example, most woods require regular sealing to keep them protected against weather and rot.

In most cases, your deck will need some form of deck footing to hold it in place, preventing moisture from rotting your wood and decreasing your deck’s lifespan. Concrete deck blocks are the most common type of footing for floating decks. Some homeowners use ground-level deck footings. For added security, consider digging and laying your ground-level footings below ground.
