"Mike and his crew of expert builders did a fantastic job. Mike was offering a 20% off coupon, but even without that, his quote came in lower and with better materials than the other two companies I had quote (and I had already worked with one company on a large project). He came right out to look at the job and had a quote to me within 24 hours. He answered all my questions and we struck a deal. It took a little longer to get started than he said, but it was entirely due to the rainy weather we've had in July and early August. It seemed to pour on every start date we set. Nevertheless, he made my hard deadline with time to spare. He also did the job right -- making sure everything was level, that my plants were taken care of during the building process, ensuring that I was consulted during the building and that I had no questions, and (very important!) using the best quality materials. I am DELIGHTED with the results and know that I would not have received such excellent work or such an excellent price from anyone else. (Note that I didn't hire the company that I'd already done a huge hardscaping project with the year prior....). He even powerwashed my walkway and a concrete area as well as my driveway where he'd stored some materials. Mike is pleasant, customer-orientated, honest, and delivers above expectation. His crew is polite, efficient, and really good at what they do. I watched the guys who built the divider wall and they spent a lot of time picking through the pile of former-chimney rocks to find just the right ones and to lay them in perfectly. They were all so professional and nice that I shared a beer with them at the end of one day's work. Fantastic experience and end-result. Can't wait for the rain to stop so I can use it!"

"Larry came out and did an analysis of our exterior drainage system, as we were having some puddling issues in the front and rear of our yard. We had just moved into the home a few months prior and Larry also did an analysis of our basement as we were having some concerns about the slightly bowed wall in our basement. Larry was very thorough and took a lot of time to go through the details of the exterior french drainage system he would install. He responded back to us in a timely manner and was extremely reasonable with their quote compared to other bids we had received from other contractors.
Larry and his team came out to the house and made quick work of a tedious job.  They took good care to keep the job-site as tidy as possible. Although Larry changed from the original plan, we felt comfortable with this as he was very thorough when explaining the reasons behind the change and we felt he had our best interest at heart. If we had any questions Larry was always available to answer them for us even when we called at 9pm.
We had a walkway that they had to cut through in order to run the piping for the drainage and Larry even added concrete to fix the walkway even though it wasn't in our original proposal.
We feel like with the work that was completed we got an excellent price and we have the peace of mind knowing that the job was done properly.

"I got three estimates for this job Cleiton was actually a little higher but he wasn't cutting corners like the other two. He offered more for the money. His men showed up every day and worked 11 hrs or more. They put up a tarp and even worked in the rain. He does excellent work and shows up on the job 4 or 5 times a day. Cost was a little higher than the estimate due to an unforseen problem and some additional work I asked him to do, but not unreasonable. Cleiton came back two days after completion of the job and scrubbed the bluestone to remove all residue from the constuction.without being told. I highly recommend him he's honest and does nice work. "fMarcus had been referred to me by a friend who had used him when building his house. I spoke to him on the phone and we agreed on a time to meet at the job site for an estimate. Right from the beginning Marcus couldn't have been more patient, friendly, helpful and professional. We met on time and I showed him the four crumbling concrete steps in the rear of the building, the crumbling concrete stoop in the front of the building and the cinder block wall with cracks in it. There were also two loose pieces of irregular shaped slate at the base of the steps, which was a trip hazard. The steps were not all the same height, so Marcus recommended reducing the rise in the taller steps by adding concrete. He also excavated at the base of the steps, cut the slate into three perfect rectangles and cemented them in. No more tripping hazard and everything looks great! He was also able to repair and reinforce a crumbling concrete stoop in the front of the building after I had been told by other contractors that it had to be replaced. As he was working, Marcus would give me options and come up with better solutions, like strengthening the wall with short pieces of rebar. I would definitely hire Marcus again!

"Malik runs a very professional operation. From the time of initial phone contact with Malik (yes, he does answer his own phone) to the final post-job cleanup, this was a hassle-free project for me. Malik's crew showed up promptly each morning, and under the supervision of Malik or his equally capable foreman ("Mr. Z"), every detail of this work was performed in a skilled, highly competent and precise manner. Once begun (except for rain days), the job was continued through completion. Worth noting also is the fact that, although he was aware of my budget limitations, Malik was able to deliver a first-class job which the quality of the finished product reflects. I would enthusiastically recommend him to any Angie's List member (and will be contacting him myself for all future work on my house).
