Cleiton Masonry Inc

Started when promised. Excavation took longer than planned. New floor was laid in good time. Attentive to requests.

Contacted firm on October 27th. Principal visited site and gave estimate of $7,500.00. Proposal was agreed to. Work was begun on November 10th and concluded on November 19th due to several days of rain. Payment was made by three checks, $3,000.00, $3,000.00 and $1,500.00.

We set a time to do the estimate but they never came out. They never called to let me know that they werent coming out either.

It went very well.

Overall the work and price was excellent. There was only 1 little miscommunication , that should not pose a problem. You are welcome to come see / verify what I am saying.

It was beautifully done. They even came back and replaced a part of the walk at no charge that was hit by a snow plow.

I called Cleiton on Saturday, April 17th. He dropped by within an hour to give an estimate for the repair of some slate stairs leading up to my house. He came early Monday morning to do the work and dropped by again on Tuesday to check on the safety of the stairs and collect payment. Cleiton is very friendly and professional. His work is very good. I would hire again.

He did a good job and I was happy with his services.

I found Cleiton Masonry, Inc. on Angie's List, and after reading the reviews felt like it was worth a shot to give them a call. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly a site visit was arranged..within 24 hours! And the owner himself showed up and get this, ON TIME!!! He was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. After assessing our situation, I expected the worst, and was PLEASANTLY surprised at his estimate for the work that was NECESSARY. I stress that point, because he didn't try to over-sell us...he told us what work was essential, and what was not. The estimate was FAIR, and waaaay better than other folks who had provided estimates that were, basically, robbery...(one contracter had quoted $7500 for the same amount of work....yeah right....NOT!). The start date was set based on our schedule, and Cleiton showed up on time and even moved all of the deck furniture that was in the way to a different location. The job was performed carefully and with excellent quality. I expected it to be a dusty, dirty job, and it was the opposite of that. They cleaned up each day and at the end of the project (lasting 3-4 days), they did a complete powerwash of all the affected surfaces, and then moved all the furniture back! If you live anywhere in lower Westchester or beyond, be good to yourself (and your wallet) and contact Cleiton Masonry, Inc. You will not be disappointed!

Cleiton was professional from start to finish. He was on time for the estimate and reliable in doing the work when scheduled. The old patio was awful but the new one is beautiful. The work was done quickly and on time at a great price! He was honest about his estimate and the final bill matched with no added costs! Wonderful!

They are extremley reliable and do very, very good work. They are very courteous, punctual and neat. You couldn't ask for a better work ethic! Also, their pricing seems fair.

Cleiton came to give us an estimate exactly when we asked. Performed the work quickly and professionally (and did an extra job for us without our asking) and we will call him again for any future projects.

Cleiton responded to my initial call within a day and arrived promptly. I have had the front steps repaired and the driveway recovered several times while living in this house (every 3-7 years), and am very familiar with the prices and quality available for these services. Cleiton's price was significantly lower than anyone else's and the quality of his work was as good or better than any mason/driveway worker that I have ever used. He was also more professional (viz., called back promptly; arrived promptly; did not drink beer on the job; cleaned up 100% when done; polite and likeable person; made helpful suggestions when asked) than any household service worker, period.

Great- job We think the job looks great. We were very impressed that they started work early everyday. The walkway looks beautiful!

I got three estimates for this job Cleiton was actually a little higher but he wasn't cutting corners like the other two. He offered more for the money. His men showed up every day and worked 11 hrs or more. They put up a tarp and even worked in the rain. He does excellent work and shows up on the job 4 or 5 times a day. Cost was a little higher than the estimate due to an unforseen problem and some additional work I asked him to do, but not unreasonable. Cleiton came back two days after completion of the job and scrubbed the bluestone to remove all residue from the constuction.without being told. I highly recommend him he's honest and does nice work. What more can you ask?

All aforementioned work was done neatly and timely. Furthermore, having received several quotes for the job, I found Cleiton Masonry's to be very fair. Once the masonry was done, I needed to have my door jam repaired because there now was more of a drop off from the door to the stoop. Cleiton was able to refer a carpenter, who came the same day, to do the work on the door. All in all, I was very pleased with the whole experience and recommend Cleiton Masonry.

Cleiton gave us an estimate promptly and then showed up as scheduled; he and his worker worked 10 - 11 hour days, cleaning up as they went along. He did an excellent job and went out of his way to return (even though we had already paid our balance) to finish up one small item that needed to wait until everything had cured. Restored our faith in contractors! We feel he will be there to check on anything should there be any problems in the future.

Cleiton Masonry was extremely responsive. They responded almost immediately to our request for an estimate. They communicated very well by email and by telephone. The job was relatively small, involving a section of concrete floor in the basement. They broke up the old floor, removed the debris and laid a new floor. The workmanship was excellent and the staff was professional and attentive to detail. The finished product looks terrific. Cleiton Masonry also responded to some unexpected turns in the job, when some of the vent pipes in the area turned out to be corroded. They replaced the pipes at a very reasonable cost and the job concluded promptly. We would recommend Cleiton to anyone in the Westchester/NYC area looking for masonry contractors.

Front step Bluestone concrete was cracked and the concrete underneath was crumbling. Salt and elements accelerated the problem this winter. Called on a Saturday afternoon, Cleiton was there within an hour! By evening, an emailed estimate arrived. Job commenced, Cleiton was there every day, with an additional helper. Cleaned up EVERY night, the job site was cordoned off for safety and Cleiton communicated adjustments that were necessary as the project ended up being a bit more difficult than we thought. (The underlying concrete was crumbling and had to be re-poured.) Overall, EXCELLENT job and though it was a bit more than estimated, the price was fair for the work done and done beautifully.

All work was done perfectly, everything looks like new! And, even better, Cleiton and his workers are punctual, courteous and they listen carefully to what your needs are. They also stay in touch if a problem comes up -- in my case, the project was delayed because of lots of rain, but I immediately received a rain date and they went to work as soon as the weather cleared up. And, as you have probably notices, the price was amazing. I received much higher estimates from other contractors because they insisted on doing unnecessary work, like building a retaining wall that was clearly not needed. If I need any further masonry work, I will unhesitatingly return to Cleiton.

I called Cleiton Masonry, letting them know that I found them on Angie's List. He, Cleiton, responded immediately with a visit to the job site and an estimate for the work to be done. It took four days, one of which was too rainy for work, so it was really only three days. The work was very painstaking and rigorous. I was so impressed at the efficiency, neatness and regard for our yard. I did not even have to mention the importance of the new grass. Very considerate. The finished job is beautiful, all stones (those old almost slate type) are back in place and he replaced the broken ones, including the matching mortar. I highly recommend. This is in a suburb 10 miles from NYC. It is not so easy to find reliable people like Cleiton Masonry, Inc.

The work was done in a very professional manner. Cleiton and his helper arrived promptly every day for a week. They also took time to clean up before leaving for the day. When they demolished the old staircase it was discovered that the stairs and the landing near the top lacked support--it was hollow underneath. For safety reasons, this required some additional work and expense to us for the added labor and materials. Bluestone treads were installed and there was a lot of stucco work. Cleiton is a perfectionist and has very high standards for the work that he does.

Cleiton delivered! He was professional, communicated, and advised me on additional work that was not seen at the initial estimate before he continued the work. He clearly explained everything and the finished work appears to be excellent. Use this guy!

This was first-class service from beginning to end. The owner had a full understanding of what I needed and made intelligent refinements based on his experience. The firm was on time, quick, and responsive to my needs. They weren't the cheapest estimate (nor the most expensive), but I justify the additional cost because it's essential to get front steps right in terms of safety and appearance, and their craftsmanship in selecting stone and attending to the finish were exemplary.
