"It went well! I expected it to take a long time to get it picked up, but I called for the bag to be emptied on Friday and they were here Saturday! I am already filling it up again. (We have a MESS from the storm and need to finish the kitchen before this weekend's company coming in from out of town.) I have already called them to request my bag be emptied on Friday, and they have me on the schedule! I can't believe the customer service is so great! This is not a regular dumpster company. I have a dumpster delivered last summer and they gouged my driveway. What a nightmare it was to get them to pay for the driveway to be fixed. NEVER AGAIN! It's BullBag only for our future needs."

"Everything went really well. From the initial consultation to the post install water test. Priced reasonably compared to others, patient enough to test the various water sources and answer all questions. On time and definitely knowledgeable."

"Mark did a fantastic job of installing the new dishwasher. I'm in a 70-year-old building, with 35-year-old kitchen counters. Getting the dishwasher to fit into the space and run properly required a lot of imagination, and Mark figured it out. He's a professional and his work is excellent. While he was working on the dishwasher, he also upgraded some of the kitchen plumbing, so now we're in great shape. He's a real professional!"

"It went very well. The handyman (Rich) came on time and was extremely helpful. He worked fast, collected all materials before leaving, and sought/made clarifications whenever needed. We were very pleased with the quality of the job and his professionalism.

"I contracted with Paragon Remodeling Group/Safe Trust roofing for the installation of three security/storm doors, replacement of a gable vent and a minor masonry repair. The job was off to a slow start with multiple concerns involving the installation of the doors (life is never perfect and things don't always go as planned). Tom Hemmerle, the owner of this company, was contacted. He came to our home, inspected the job, assessed the situation and offered definitive solutions. He took this small job as seriously as if it were a large construction project and made it clear to us he would have the it completed in a quality fashion and to our satisfaction, and he did so in a cordial and professional manner. The issues at the onset were more than resolved and our expectations were completely met. We are satisfied homeowners and would not hesitate to call on Paragon Remodeling Group/Safe Trust Roofing for future work. We highly recommend this company. Tom Hemmerle definitely has your back!"

"EXCELLENT.  We were under the gun, with 50+ guests arriving in a few days for an event.  We'd gutted the kitchen and built a timetable that enabled the project to be finished in ample time for us to complete the cooking.  We needed Darnell and his team to stick to that timetable and they came through with shining colors!  Excellent work, minimal dust, and even some impressive improvisation along the way.  The walls in our kitchen are neither plumb nor level but the new cabinets were.  That creates a few challenges that Darnell and his team resolved.  Long and the short of it is that I've been working with skilled laborers for over 40 years and this crew is as good as it gets!

"We had 4 HVAC contractors come and give us estimates. Shai was the most thorough. He was the only one who asked to see our circuit breaker or to mention that we would need a survey for the a.c. outdoors. The estimate was very reasonable. We liked the fact that he installs Coleman products, made in Kansas. I will also say that we were very comfortable with him. Friendly, but professional. The installers were very thorough and pleasant. They answered all of our questions, and did not leave till cleanup was done."

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

Never put glass in the garbage disposal. It can damage your disposal or eject shards of glass out of the disposal and cause injury. If you get broken glass in your garbage disposal, turn it off and cut the power from the breaker, use a tool like pliers or tongs to remove the glass, and use a wet-dry vacuum to remove the remaining glass pieces. If you can’t access the disposal safely, call a garbage disposal repair pro.

Replacing a garbage disposal costs anywhere from $150 to $950, but the average cost is somewhere around $550. There are two types of garbage disposal units, and continuous feed disposals tend to cost more than batch feed disposals. Going for an aluminum garbage disposal is also significantly cheaper than choosing a stainless steel garbage disposal. You'll also need to factor in the horsepower of the motor, labor, and the removal and disposal of your old unit.

While the drain connection for a garbage disposal is nearly universal and fits standard sink drain holes of 3 1/2 to 4 inches, the size of the disposal unit itself is not. You must have enough space in the cabinet underneath your sink to accommodate the disposal's housing. A larger model may not fit in a compact cabinet or if the existing plumbing is arranged in an unusual way. Before buying a new garbage disposal, measure the available space under your sink. If you are replacing an old unit, it's often easiest to choose a new model of a similar size.

As with many appliances, proper maintenance is key to maximizing your garbage disposal’s life span. If everyone in your household is on board with proper care and maintenance, like running water while operating the disposal, you should get plenty of years out of your unit. Avoid putting the wrong food items down the disposal, including pasta, rice, bread, and more.

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.
