Our hopes were that it would reduce the moisture under our house, keep out the winter wind and burrowing rodents, and finally provide us a place we could store seasonal furniture, etc. The price they quoted us was quite high, but we thought the potential benefits were worth the investment. Upon arriving home from work after the first day of this project, we found that the ADB crew had hit our water heater, severing the main pipe that supplies it water. Water had sprayed all over, before the hot water was shutoff. No one from ADB contacted us about this problem. When we called them, the first response we got was that "there was no reported problem with out job." Several calls and emailed photographs later, they admitted there was indeed an "unreported" problem. They had also, without my consent, removed two sets of short steps that provided our only access to the cellar. They were both ripped from the wall, and left outside. I informed them that I was never informed that this was going to happen, and wouldn't have given permission if I had known. They said that the salesperson should have mentioned it, and that it was regular practice. The dehumidifier that was part of my contract was placed precariously atop a concrete block and resting against my water heater. In this location, it was not only in the way, but a potential hazard should it tip over. I took time off from work the next day to speak with their main office, meet with the crew, and address these problems. While our initial calls to ADB the night of the discovery were answered, we had to wait until the next morning to speak with someone who could address our problems. They were very professional and interested in fixing the issues. The crew chief (when he arrived) was also polite and apologetic. By the end of that day, the work was done and the cellar did look great. However, when we demanded compensation for: a plumber to fix the water heater, time off from work to oversee the project, and rebuilding the stairs, they gave us a little less than a 5% percent reduction in price. Though the project had caused great stress, and cost addition money for repairs, we just wanted it to be over. Also, we were happy with the final transformation of our basement. We just wish that ADB had been more forthcoming and honest with us, from the initial description of work to be done, to the reporting of issues. I think they do provide a good product, but would recommend anyone using them to get a very clear description of what is to be removed and what work they will do. Being present during the process to give additional oversight might not be a bad idea, either."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ct/brookfield/american-dry-basement-systems-reviews-2038745.htm"},"position":9},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"SAVAGE SYSTEMS","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"CT","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Paul D."},"reviewBody":"The technician called me almost two days later to tell me a virus caused this to happen. I told him I wasn't sure I agreed with him since I have had the same virus protection (Norton) since 1996 on several computers and never had a virus. I told him I had received several LOW MEMORY warnings but continued to use the computer and it would no longer allow me to log in with my password. He quoted me a price and I told him I did not want any loss of programs or information because some of the things could not be replaced. I was assured nothing would change on my computer. I was called in the afternoon to pick it up and when I arrived I was told it would be another 30 minutes because Norton back up was causing the memory loss by backing up constantly. I mentioned that it wasn't that bad because the laptop is three years old and it took that long so it was not a major problem. I returned 30 minutes later, paid by check and returned home. I volunteer with our local Relay For Life and responsible for working with team captains and notifying everyone about meetings and updates. I also volunteer with a teen group, Putnam Interact Club, sponsored by Putnam Rotary Club. I had approximately 280 Relay For Life email addresses, 40 for Interact and numerous others for personal use. My email account was gone and the desktop folder for my Live Mail was empty. The folder I had with all updated contacts was also gone. I could not locate anywhere. I then found all my documents were gone. I had at least 50 forms, letters and flyers for Relay For Life and another 30 or 40 for Interact Club, a dozen for my wife (she is a teacher) and some school work for my grandson. All were gone. Checking further I found ALL my pictures were gone. I had approximately 50 folders and some contained pictures which can't be replaced as previously mentioned. I called immediately and was told to bring in it back Monday (today) and maybe these things were in another folder. I checked all that was left and nothing could be found. There was other information lost as well, a game program used by my grandson when he was here and it would not allow another account to be created. My email account was also deleted and I will have to contact ATand T to set it up again but have the problem of NO contacts. ALL the Norton information was deleted, including the logs and ALL backups. I am unable to restore because of that. I also can't check the logs to verify a virus and, if true, which one. Why was all Norton information deleted, including logs and backup? I was told the back up caused the problem and I doubt that. The logs did not cause the problem but they were also deleted. Why? I am bringing it back this morning because I am desperate but this will be the last time I use them for computer repair or updating. Not happy and find it hard to believe that I am unable to verify a virus because logs were also deleted. Why was my updated contacts folder deleted from the desktop? I don't use Yahoo mail and the contact list there is almost two years old and shows only first OR last names and is not useful to me but they did leave that intact. Additionally, my computer runs slower than it ever has and there is little remaining because of missing files so it should not be slower than ever. I know this is a lot but all the details I can think of right now. Perhaps others are happy with this company and I am sorry to say I can't share their confidence and trust.

When it comes to flooring installers, licensing laws vary from state to state. Even if your state doesn’t require your flooring installer to have a license, your municipality or city might, so it’s a good idea to check with your town before getting started. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines.
Hiring an unlicensed flooring installer could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
