My guest bath granite - blue pearl with a square sink is so beautiful. It reminds me of a 5 star hotel!
"Thank you for the great review. We like to see you satisfied , on behalf of Luxus we are very sorry about the scratch on the sink unfortunately stainless scratches , the manufacture of the sinks that we supplied does not have grates to match. I am glad that you love the top for the most part."
When I called to schedule the template around the end of July, I was again assured by the sales person that my slab was the same one I had chosen in May. The template maker arrived at the time he was scheduled to arrive, and the install was scheduled for a week later, between 12:30 and 2 p.m. As my husband and I both work, we made arrangements to have off the afternoon of the install, and I asked for a call about 1/2 hour prior to them getting to the house so we could meet them at our house. Luxus tried calling me around 10 am when I was unavailable (nor was I prepared to leave work quite that early). I felt badly that they had been waiting and arranged to have my neighbor let them into my house while my husband drove home. I should NOT have done that; I should have made them wait until I got home. (It is our feeling that they knew the lot was different that what I purchased, and they wanted to get it done before we realized it, but I have no proof of that.) By the time my husband got home (1/2 hour), the install was finished. I arrived just a few minutes later and immediately knew that the granite was NOT the slab I had chosen; the shade was completely different. Had they arrived when they said, and had my husband or I been home, we would not have accepted the granite. After I refused to be convinced by the installer that it was the same shade, he finally called the company, took pictures and took part of the sample piece back with him. He acknowledged that Luxus had had that particular granite in stock a couple months back (which is when I selected mine), but they didn't have it in stock currently. They apparently sold all the slabs that were in stock when I deposited, and my slab was from a completely different lot (one I would have NEVER selected because I didn't like the color or the movement in it). After multiple conversations with Adrienne, I learned that it had been noted in my record that I had been back to the factory to approve the slab, but in fact, I hadn't been back to the factory since placing my deposit in May. In the meantime, the tile floor I had ordered to coordinate with the granite had been delivered and couldn't be returned, so I was dealing with multiple problems caused by a granite counter that I had not selected.
The company made an offer of a 15 year sealer to get me to keep the installed granite and they did have another slab delivered to the factory to see if it matched the color of the original granite (it did not). In the end, I kept the granite as I just became too tired and frustrated to keep looking, and I couldn't hold up the project any longer. Though we compromised on the final cost of the granite, the 15 year sealer warranty was taken off the table. I did have to return the tile for the floor, and start another search for both floor and backsplash tiles, which delayed the project even further.
I called Luxus a couple of weeks later to ask a question about sealing the granite and the response I received was curt. When I asked about a service call to round an edge because of a change we made to a cabinet, they wanted to charge $250 for something that I paid another granite fabricator $50 to do (it was a 10 minute job).
I learned shortly thereafter that two other friends of friends had similar issues with Luxus (granite counter fabrication) in the recent past.
In the end, I have granite counters that match my cabinets ok and I can live with but do not and quot;loveand quot;. The whole process with Luxus increased my stress level 10 fold and held up completion of the remodel by weeks.
Overall, the workmanship of the counter is pretty good, though at one end, the counter extends the cabinet by a 1/4 -1/2 inch more than the rest of the counter. The sink installation seems to be good as well. Luxus also had pretty good prices. IF you decide to contract with them, just be sure to visit the factory to confirm you're getting the slab you chose immediately before they begin the fabrication.
"(member name removed) I am glad that you are starting to like your granite counter top, we did knock off $1000 on the price to make you satisfied and we thought that would work and am sorry that it didn't. The 15 year sealer was offered to keep the stone and pay the balance of the stone that you received. I am sorry for this but when I spoke with you the tile was NOT picked up from the factory yet leaving a bit of a gap in your story. All of our slabs get tagged and all clients are offered to return to view at any time to see it as well as lay out the template when completed."
That is where the good part ends. My wife and I are novices, having never bought stone before for the counter tops. We are only aware that marble is weak and granite is strong. We had asked for granite and were sold serpentine!!! Only at the time of installation, did I become aware that the stone selected was not a granite.
Luxus Marble and Granite refused to take any responsibility for the miscommunication. Instead, sent us a web-link, that essentially states and quot;most people in USA consider Serpentine stone as Marble; but they think notand quot;.
We had asked for granite and ended up with Serpentine stone, which is significantly much softer and weaker than a granite. I certainly felt that I was uninformed as a buyer and was taken advantage of. To make matters worse, Luxus Marble and Granite refused to take any responsibility for the outcome or the process.
"we would like thank you for coming to our store, I would like to clarify that you were very well aware that this was not granite way before we even cut the project so you had more than enough time to change the color that you have selected. I am very sorry for any sour feeling but we did supply you with all that we promised, great service, product and installation I hope this stone makes you as happy as you were when you arrived at our store."
"Thank you so much, it was a pleasure to work with you. When you first came in you thought that you wanted a solid black wow who would have thought that you would have gone with such character. Please feel to forward us pictures of the project to also show future clients our workmanship."
I would have written a raving review had I not experienced a smalll issue that delayed my kitchen project from being completed for an entire month.
I visited their showroom in May when I was just about ready to break ground on my kitchen remodel. The sales representative Melissa was super nice and provided me with a lot of knowledge and information.
I searched for and found a granite slab that I loved at Boston Granite Exchange toward the end of May. I forwarded the information to Melissa and she provided me a quote within minutes.
About a week after I reserved the slab in Boston, Melissa called me to let me know that she acquired a slab of the Sienna Bordeaux granite from one of her suppliers and could offer it to me for a cheaper price than the one at Boston Granite Exchange.
I visited the showroom that day to view the slab and place my order. Melissa put me in the computer immediately to be measured for a template and an install date.
Template was done on 6/11 and install happened on 6/20.
The following week my contractor was back in my kitchen to finish some eletrical work and install the appliances. At this time he was also planning to begin the tile backsplash.
When he installed the appliances, he called to inform me that Luxus failed to install a Stove rail. I had no idea what a Stove rail was.
The type of stove that I purchased was a slide in. This means that the surface does not come flush with the wall, therefore a small piece of granite needs to be installed behind the stovetop.
I called Luxus immediately to let them know that this needed to be installed in order for my contractor to begin the tile backsplash. I left a message and waited 3 days for a return phone call. I called again and reached Melissa. She said she would look into it and let me know. I received a call the following week with the details of how much it will cost to install this new piece. An additional $175. The following week a technician came to the house to measure for the new piece. I received another phone call let me know that their would be an additional cost due to the fact that they needed to install not only the stove rail, but a piece of granite backsplash as well. The balance would be an additional $116.
Finally, today, July 31st the work was completed. (and my contractor was finally able to begin the work on my tile backsplash) Although the rest of my countertops were done perfectly, this new piece had a noticable seam. Not happy, but what bothers me the most is that they left the invoice for me and the cost of the materials were $116. The description for the $175 charge states and quot;Trip Chargeand quot;. Are you kidding me? They had the nerve to charge me for labor after they screwed up! If they had asked when they came to measure for the template what kind of appliances I had, this would not have happened. However, I could not get them to admit to this mistake. So I had to pay in $ and time.
Superior customer service when they are trying to obtain your business. Once they have it, you'd better hope nothing goes wrong.
"I am sorry for the inconvenience that you have received, I would like to let you know that all appliances are to be at your home at the time of template so that we know how to cut and template properly, they were not there in your case, a trip charge is for the factor time and gas cost money if it was at your home when we arrived and we didn't notice than there would be no charge. As far as calling you back in a timely manner you left a message on our machine on a Friday and we do not return until Monday that is why the length of time seamed longer than your initial contact to our store. When Melissa spoke with you she offered to have it made right up for your contractor to pick up because our schedule was already full with prior orders, this service was rejected by you and you did state that you would rather wait. We want all of our clients to be satisfied fully from start to finish unfortunately this was beyond our control ."
"thank you so much, we are glad that it all came out great, it was a pleasure working with you."
"you were as well a pleasure to work with, thank you for the great review ."
"Thank you so much for seeing the value in the hard work that we do, it has been a please making your home complete"
"Thank you for your business we thrive to have satisfied clients and are happy that we were able not to have to inconvenience you"
"We thank you for your the opportunity to supply you with such great service and workmanship. Please do tell your friends and every one about us."
"Thank you for choosing us, I am sure that this is beautiful for it is one of my favorite stones."
