"I signed a contract with North American Chimney on February 1st. I was provided an estimate on the spot and was happy to get a project started. The first appointment was canceled due to a blizzard. On the rescheduled date, I notified the receptionist there was snow and ice on the roof, and was told, “we work in these conditions all the time”. The installer arrived, and said it was too icy. I was fine, and rescheduled. On the third attempt, I again called and said, it seemed “icy to me”. The receptionist said they would make the decision when they arrived. Upon arrival, the installer said it was dangerous and he would prefer to reschedule. I agreed. He called the owner in front of me, and said, “the owner does not want us on the roof”. This was an outright lie. It was the installer’s decision. When he hung up the phone, I inquired why he did that. “It’s just easier that way to say it was you”. On the fourth attempt, the chase cover, and two caps were installed. The roof was clear, but it was bitterly cold. I asked if that would prevent any caulk from curing; “we work in all type of weather”. I thought it was finally done. Two days later, the garage was flooded with a white, milky water. I collected nearly four gallons of water in buckets. When I called, I was told the installer said I had another issue on the roof and that was the problem. I said, it is definitely your issue. After some back and forth, I was able to get an appointment. When the installer arrived, he was rude and accusatory. That was, until he saw the collection of white water, and when I pointed to the two flues in the garage, and sunlight was visibly shining in. The appointment was clearly tense, and I was glad when they were done. Following the replacement of the roof, there was a downpour with wind, and leak appeared on the ceiling upstairs. At first, the obvious culprit was the roofer. That was, until I got up and inspected the quality of the chase cover/cap installation. (see attached pictures). After several hours, we proved the roof was not the issue, and I called North American Chimney. The receptionist said she would pull the paperwork and get back to me. I told her, the original installer made me uncomfortable and I wanted someone else from the company to correct the problem. She agreed. The next day, I was told by receptionist, the owner said the original installer would have to repair the situation. As was communicated to me “I had no alternative then to give him the option to fix it”. Two days, later, with no further communication, not even to schedule the original installer, I called and indicated I would take care of this myself. It is very unfortunate that with this company, the word of the customer has no value. I’ve had to defend myself that issues the installer left truly existed, and also, I’m told that I have no alternative but to have an installer come to my house and generate a tense situation. At no time did the owner reach out and try to resolve the situation. See the pictures. This is what $3000 of materials and installation looks like, and now I’m left to deal with it. And by the way, the website’s primary screen says, “Honesty, integrity, and Reliable Service with a 100% Money Back Guarantee”. I wonder if that will happen."

"Initially on 4/06/17 the Owner Carlos and his associate Hector came to my home to survey the job site to quote my job scope. They both seemed very pleasant and very friendly and it was explained that I wanted a 14' X 24' U shaped retaining wall for my greenhouse and the retaining wall needed to be filled with cement. Carlos assured me that it would be done correctly. I provided the cinder block and 50 bags of cement and they provided the Rebar, Mortar and the labor. Long story short, they completed the job I thought on 04/19/17. A week or so after when I was starting to start assembling my frame to the greenhouse, I leaned on one of the cinderblock and my hand started to sink into the cinderblock because they did not fill all the cinder blocks with cement, what they did do is filled them mostly with sand and then capped off the cinderblock with approximately 2" of cement. I then left Carlos a text with the issue and requested for him to contact me with his solution on how to correct this problem. Carlos never contacted me. I waited another 3-4 weeks and called him on a Sunday and he picked up this time and said that he would have his office contact me and set up a time to have one of his workers come over to my residence and see what needed to be done and then schedule a time he could complete the work. I also told him that I would still pay for the cement and he would provide the labor. He agreed, but unfortunately he never had his office contact me nor any of his workers. I called and left multiple texts and voice messages to his office and cell phone. It is now July and he has still not responded. I believe I gave him ample time and opportunity to respond and fix my retaining wall as a result of cutting corners at my expense. I STRONGLY do NOT recommend this business to anyone because obviously they do not honor their commitment to a contract or stand by their work."

"It went great. I have a pellet stove, it has never been cleaned like this. They put a bag over the bottom of the stove liner, 1 tec on the roof, 1 tec inside. When finished I saw all the soot in the bag, WOW. They put the stove back together, cleaned up and explained everything they did. They were very friendly and pleasant to talk with. Today I started my stove and stared right up. I highly recommend them and would hire them again."
