- JBL HOME IMPROVEMENTS INCDave and the team did a great job. The team was in for about 2-1/2 weeks to completely rip out and replace our master bathroom (down to bare studs). Dave also completed some other work not directly related to the bathroom. Overall, Dave and the team, including all his subcontractors were always professional, on time each and did an overall great job. He has an attention to detail and checked the work each day to make sure everything was right. He kept us in the loop before and during the work on the status of the job. We couldn't be more happy with how it all came out. Our existing bathroom was 20+ years old and was in major need of a repair. It has been very hard over the past few years finding a reliable contractor. Luckily I found one in the team at JBL
- JBL HOME IMPROVEMENTS INCWe chose JBL, early last October, after getting estimates from five contractors ,and we couldn't be more pleased. Dave (owner), said they wouldn't be able to start until the new year. However, he was able to free up his crew at the end of October to install new flooring in our master bedroom, a few days before we were getting a new bedroom set. The biggest surprise came the first week of November, when Dave told us he could start the master bathroom remodel on December 6th. Once they started that, everything went well. Dave gave us some good suggestions but he was also always open to do anything that we wanted. The best advice he gave us, was to buy good quality bathroom plumbing fixtures for the bathroom, which we did. While it did cost us much more than we intended on spending, it was a smart thing to do, as the quality of the products in the big box stores can't match what we bought. After finishing the bathroom, they started work on a room we wanted in the basement. Again, Dave gave us suggestions, for flooring and lighting, and the room came out great. They also did a nice job in replacing our single front door light with two new lights that we had purchased. After that, we had to wait a few weeks for the egress window to be done, due to supply shipping issues. By the end of February, all was done. One thing that we were extremely happy about, was that Dave came to the house just about every day to see how things were progressing. His crew was also a pleasure to work with. They were on time every morning. They are all very nice, very skilled, and answered any questions we had during the entire process. The outside companies he uses for plumbing, sheetrock and shower glass are all top notch. Electrical work was done by, Mike, one of his own crew, who also does a lot of the carpentry, along with two other men. They left the house clean at the end of the day. What we also liked, is that the only money Dave asked for up front, was the deposit for hiring him and for the egress window, as he had to pay for that to place the order. Other than that, money was only paid after work was already done. Pricewise, JBL was middle of the road when compared to the other estimates we got, so we know we weren't overpaying. We would definitely use JBL again and highly recommend them
- JBL HOME IMPROVEMENTS INCJust completed my master bath remodeling by JBL Home Improvement, Inc. in St. James on 3/29/2022. I am completely satisfied. It came out just as I planned. I am especially pleased with the quality of the frameless shower enclosure and the tile layout. Dave Kaplan and his workers were completely professional and accommodating. Dave visited at least once each morning to meet with me and his workers and was readily available by phone throughout the day. Every day before leaving each worker cleaned up thoroughly. The cost of the project was reasonable. I spent a great deal of time researching contractors. Dave is actively licensed, insured, and with no complaints as per the Suffolk County Office of Consumer Affairs. He has an A+ rating with the BBB. I would not hesitate to use JBL Home Improvement, Inc. again and highly recommend them
- Tom Saint Painting & Remodeling LLCTom Saint and his crew did an amazing job renovating our entire house. We had a pipe burst which cause a lot of damage and Tom was able to restore the house to better than before. He gave us practical and cost conscious options and made some really great suggestions about design and features. Tom and his crew restored our hardwood floors, gutted and rebuilt the kitchen, dealt with plumbing and electrical, and painted the walls and trim among several other things. We are so happy with the final result – it looks extremely high quality, professional, and modern! Tom was a pleasure to work with. We found him to be an extremely patient, responsive, and communicative. He was on-site frequently and very easy to reach. I don't think Tom ever let more than an hour go by in responding to a call or txt message – usually it was closer to 5 minutes which really speaks to his level of customer service. His whole crew was very friendly, knowledgeable, and fast working. I highly recommend Tom and would definitely work with him again in the future
- Waxtel LLCWe put off renovating our small Brooklyn apartment for years. We could not get a single recommendation from friends for a contractor, just tales of bad experiences. So, I took a chance on Dave based on the Angie’s List reviews, and I am very happy I did. I can now add to the good reviews. The Team were fantastic, and the quality of the work was excellent. The team are problems solvers, and when we ran into the occasional issues they were able to find good solutions. The work was scheduled to take 3-4 weeks (full kitchen remodel, refinish wood floors, new bathroom floor tiling, electrics, appliances, custom woodwork etc.) and we moved out for the renovation. It took the full 4 weeks, with the team having to come back twice to wrap up final touches (mostly due to supply chain issues, not a fault of the contractor). Our site manager was Rich, who was extremely responsive to all my questions and texts, and believe me I had a lot of questions. I had no problems getting the contractor back onsite to finish when the last deliveries arrived. Based on my experience, I would certainly recommend Waxtel LLC. You will love your new Kitchen

"The price was competitive, work was done ahead of time as additional workers were added to the job as rain and snow was in the forecast. Clean up was performed at the end of each day. Interior ceiling from roof leak was repaired and painted. Workers were polite, respectful and answered all questions.

"Erick Fajardo was responsive and knowledgeable. He worked with us to come up with a plan that fit our budget. We painted the stucco, replaced and painted rotted trim, replaced rotted decking on one deck with great-looking and long lasting composite. To save money, we stained but did not replace the rails that were in good shape and deferred more work on a second deck. When the rotted window, one of a matching pair, turned out to be no longer available from the manufacturer, Erick painstakingly rebuilt the window in his shop. While they were working on the house, Erick's crew cleaned the gutters and made some other minor repairs. The quality of the work was excellent and the cost very fair. I would highly recommend Fajardo General Contracting.

"The new shower looks great, we're very happy with it. Joe did a quick job on taking out the old shower, repaired some studs, installed the new shower tiles and organized a plumber to install the fixtures. Overall a great job, no dust and mess in surrounding rooms and the site was left clean each day. We will ask Joe to do all of our future projects.

Mirash and his team were always on time, set correct expectations for timelines, were very professional, reasonably priced and did fantastic work on both rooms.
