Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel
This is an overdue review. I hired Bernie and his team for a kitchen remodel in June 2021, after he did an excellent job with my three bathrooms in 2020. The kitchen remodel was also excellent. His works are efficient, hardworking and clean. My remodel took two weeks, as he had quoted and for the exact price he had quoted. I would hire him and his team again and I referred them to a coworker for her bathroom project. She was also very pleased with their work.

Although this review is way overdue, time has not diminished how completely happy I am we went with Star22 for our main bathroom renovation & our from scratch new bathroom in our basement and relocated our washer/dryer to an area we turned into a laundry room. Let me tell you, I am a very particular person! The details matter to me and I was so nervous taking on multiple projects. From beginning to end, Bernie/Tim put me at ease & delivered! Above and beyond! Amazing customer service - we were made to feel like we were the only client & the only project they had. The PM Jalmer was great - and my rockstars - the two Henrys did HIGH QUALITY work! Everyone was hardworking, attentive & any of my questions or concerns were addressed immediately. They obtained the permits & everything was done properly & up to code (passed all inspections!) THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Oh and they kept the promised timeline - no delays or issues. INCREDIBLE! Would recommend and would ABSOLUTELY use again. I LOVE my 2 new bathrooms so much!!

We were going to update two bathrooms in our house, the master bathroom and the hall bathroom. The hall bath was going to be a complete gut, but the footprint was going to remain the same. The master bathroom was a complete gut, but the footprint was going to be updated, with a curb less linear drain shower. We asked Bernie if this was something he had done and he said it was in their scope. After the rough plumbing inspection, I realized there was standing water on the shower floor. Using a level, the shower floor that was supposed to have a slope for draining was level. When I asked Bernie for the second time if he had ever done this type of shower floor, all I heard was crickets coming from him. The shower floor had to be stripped down to the joists and I brought in a different contractor to build the curb less shower floor with the linear drain. In my opinion, Bernie was not honest with me in his construction abilities. He also wanted me to pay the full price for this option as per the contract. We negotiated a reasonable solution to the cost of this issue, only for Bernie to show up the next day, demanding more money or he was pulling his team off the project. Then when it came time for the tile contractor to start their work it was determined that a wall that Bernie built separating the shower from the vanity was almost two inches out of plumb at the top of the wall. I provided Bernie with a list of all the plumbing shower fixtures, so he knew exactly what had to be done in the master shower. He charged additional money as a result of the plumbing fixtures, as he said it was more work for his team to install. I learned about the additional costs after he did the work and handed me an invoice. There were other instances when Bernie performed additional work without my authorization. He never provided a cost estimate for any of the additional work, only the invoice when that work was completed. When we were negotiating the contract Bernie said if I paid cash then I would get a 3% credit card savings from the contract price. At the end of the contract, I applied my 3% discount to the last payment as a credit. Bernie's story changed and now he was claiming something entirely different and did not want to apply the cash discount. In my opinion not only does Bernie overstate the abilities of his company, but their work lacks quality and he is not a very honorable person.

A couple weeks after Star 22 Home remodeled our master bathroom costing tens of thousands of dollars, we found that a marble countertop was installed without being sealed as the surface began to be eaten away in several places. Star 22 Home refuses to take responsibility to replace this countertop and continues to ignore our communications. BEWARE of doing business with Star 22 Home who will not stand behind their work.

It is sad that you have to go this route. 1st of all, we gave [Member Name Removed] all info about natural stone and its consequences and that is why she selected Quartz. but after a few visits, she changed it to marble. We seal our countertops twice (once by fabricator and 2nd by us after install, this is standard in every project). we visited you to remedy this situation at least 4 times plus 2 visits from the fabricator. they were able to resolve the issue of hair product stains. I have text messages from [Member Name Removed] stating that one circle was from water and another was from her hair spray, she even sent me a picture. we have been very accommodating to you on this issue. Your complain about the 2nd vanity that has imperfections is another issue you are bringing up. When we spoke, we mentioned that we are dealing with fabricator and give us more time since fabricator feels he delivered a good stone. its unfortunate you did not wait and chose this direction. We completed bathroom in May and your first contact to us about this problem is July 6. We had communication between these dates about your daughters kitchen inquiry but not related to your bathroom and this issue was not mentioned."

We hired Star 22 for a bathroom remodel. Our experience was very good and we would work with them again. The experience from estimate to project completion met our expectations. Everyone from the on-site crew, to project manager to owners were reliable and easy to work with. The crew arrived and departed on time and kept the work area clean daily. They finished the job on time and workmanship was good.

Bernie and the Star 22 Team were great to work with on our new layout bathroom renovation. We ran into some complications with our old house, but we were able to work with the team to still achieve our desired layout. They were timely and worked efficiently so that the active work was focused over two one week periods. I was never concerned about delays or had any issues with getting a hold of someone if needed. The crews were polite and kept the area as clean as a work area could. An added bonus is the great showroom they have, where you can work out a design with the experts. We're very happy with the results!

The entire project from start to finish went smoothly, even though we changed tiles and cabinet finishes twice during the process along with picking out the fixtures. Bernie was patient and understanding whenever we showed up at the showroom with questions and changes. He kept us informed about any delays in getting the materials and what that meant in the time frame in completing the job (job was completed on time). The men assigned to do the project were friendly and patient with m asking a million questions during the whole process. They took extra care to make sure our floors and stairs were covered and protected at all times and at the end of the day they explained what they did and cleaned up everything. A supervisor came by each day to check with the progress and talked with us about any concerns we may have had. The quality of their work is second to none, we have received many compliments on the overall job and one of our neighbors contacted Bernie and to do their bathroom project. The showroom has many styles and colors to chose from and a large selection of bathroom fixtures to chose from. I highly recommend Star 22 Home for next your remodeling project, I know we will be using them in the future.

When we were in the market to remodel two full bathrooms in our home, we did a lot of research to find the right contractor for the job. We found just that in Bernie and his team at Star22Home. From first contact, we were struck by the excellent communication and follow-up. The estimate was clear and the prices (with all material allowances) were very reasonable. When there was an issue with a tile supplier shortly before work was to begin, Bernie met us at his showroom after-hours to make sure that we found a replacement. The two crews sent (one for each bathroom) were clean (covering all furniture and floors from the front door to the point of work), professional, on time each day, efficient (finishing one bathroom a day ahead of schedule), friendly, and ensured that this was not just a cosmetic update. Where needed, walls were removed to the studs, subflooring was repaired, and all necessary ‘behind the wall’ plumbing was replaced. Our project manager (Jalmer) was in contact throughout, stopping by each day and giving us his phone number for any concerns along the way. When a factory imperfection was found in a tile after initial completion, a crew was there within the week to make the replacement. The finished product of each bathroom looks amazing and we could not be happier. As we come across additional contracting needs in the future, we will definitely look to work with Star22Home again and would highly recommend them to others seeking similar services.

The work Star22 Home did was great. Bernie is extremely responsive and worked with us on price and every detail of the bathroom. He always answered all of our questions and made sure we were happy during the renovation. The staff that came to our home to do the work was exceptional. They worked 8-6pm six days per week and only took a 30 min lunch. They asked us questions before installing things to make sure we were happy. They cleaned up every night before they left. We have never seen such a hard working crew. In addition, Bernie told us 2 weeks to do 2 bathrooms and ended up being done in 1.5 weeks. We are extremely happy with the finished product and would hire again.

Great experience. Bernie and his team are excellent! The initial consultation with Bernie was smooth. There was no pressure. He quoted a higher price than others I met with, but advised me that he didn't cut corners and that the price quoted would be the price charged. The showroom was what sold me. He had lots of options, allowed me to take my time choosing options and worked with me to accommodate my budget. I really appreciated his patience and attention. The crew showed up on-time every day and worked above and beyond what was expected. The work was completed in two weeks, as promised. Bernie dealt with any changes or issues professionally and promptly. His workers were efficient and experienced. I am very happy with the final product and will be hiring Bernie for my kitchen remodel int he future.

Bernie provided a base estimate and after meeting him was able to refine the estimate by choosing products that best fit our needs and budget. He and his team were extremely organized and completed the job within 5 days. All issues were addressed quickly and with care. I only wish I had met him earlier before we did other work on our home. One of the best contractors I have ever worked with in the 20 years of owning 3 houses.

Work was excellently done. Installers were extremely professional, and experienced in the installation process. Came to work early and left at their scheduled time. Bathrooms were completed as per the agreement made with Bernie. Bernie was very patient, and provided input as needed. He worked with us. We were very happy with the results. Bernie and his team are excellent. Bernie is helpful to the homeowner in making decisions, he is very organized and is very reliable. Communications with Bernie and his team during the project were very good. All costs are indicated up front with no surprises. His team is very careful when working in your home and they are efficient as well. Bottom line - we are very pleased with the outcome with our bathroom renovation. We now plan to have him renovate our main bath and powder room as well. I strongly recommend this contractor. Update: We were pleased with the outcome of our master bath renovation so we had Star22Home renovate our main bath and powder room. Bernie's teams are efficient and do excellent work.
