"The experience we had collaborating with Jeremy and the Sensible Home Products (SHP) team was outstanding and one beyond anything we could have imagined. In fact, we have never had a better experience with any contractor or company, of any type, than what we had with SHP. Jeremy demonstrated a level of trust that gave us comfort that the needed improvements made to our 90-year-old home, were appropriate and that the house would be safe, secure, and visually pleasing for future generations. This trust emerged from the initial quote that described the specific steps SHP would follow, to leaving the work area, every day, as spotless as when the team showed up, to traveling to the Boston area for a door that was not available at a store in Connecticut, to creatively and thoughtfully solving the issues and challenges the house threw at SHP, to taking every requested addition to the project with a can do attitude. In a nutshell, the SHP focus was ensuring that the improvements to our house would stand the test of time, and that the work was completed with care and dedication as if we were part of Jeremy’s family. Jeremy was transparent about the daily work. He sent us pictures of the progress made and of the structural issues that were uncovered. Although we would have wished wood rot, roof leakage, water damage and termite damage did not exist, they did. Because Jeremy provided the daily updates, he was able to share why the improvements were needed and important. He always answered my questions clearly and concisely. The SHP billing approach was clear so there were never any surprises. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonably the project ended up costing. Observing Jeremy and the SHP teamwork was amazing. I have never seen such a talented, dedicated, caring, and creating team. They worked with amazing efficiency and effectiveness. I can attest, based on other projects we have taken on, this project would have taken much longer than the five short weeks (including Christmas and below freezing temperatures) this took. The quality of their work was remarkable and the pride in their workmanship was always evident. The extra touches he included in the project and the counsel he provided gave us 100% confidence that he would do what was right and that he, and SHP, would go above and beyond. The house is beautiful, and Jeremy and SHP will always hold a place in our hearts. They are an absolute gift, and they are now considered part of our family. I did not know Jeremy before this project, but I now count him as a friend. Going forward, we will call Jeremy and SHP first and we will know that he will care for us and for our house as if it was his own."

"Dustin and CCC did wonderful work creating a new bathroom and remodeling a bedroom for our house. What was most positive was Dustin’s energetic interest in the project, dedication to seeing the project through to make it come out with high quality, and persistently spirited good will. There were two aspects that didn’t work quite optimally: (1) The crew took much longer to finish than they promised (the original time was “1-month +” but over two months passed and there were still lingering issues---see below.) If you hire them, I recommend having it written into the contract exactly when it will start and end, including a specification of what the consequences will be if the job isn’t done on time. (2) They didn’t know what to do with our laminated wood floors. They needed to put down protection for the dining room floor which was damaged by the construction traffic, and they had trouble patching and refinishing the floor in the bedroom after removing a wall. When I asked Dustin to address (2), to his credit he was ready to bring in a floor refinishing specialist to fix the issues at a very favorable price to us. At that point, unfortunately, we couldn’t afford the interruption it would cause to have this repair done at that moment. In response, Dustin gave us a discount so we can address these issues with a profession flooring company in the future when we’ll have a good opportunity to vacate the house for this purpose. I recommend that if you need wood floor work done, you make sure there is an agreement in the contract to have somebody with wood floor expertise address that part. In all, Dustin was generous and willing to try to work with us when there were issues. I know that his company has also been generous about helping people who were in need in the past. This is a quality that I particularly admire in a company, so we still feel very positive toward CCC, but I have identified the issues we had in hopes that they won’t be issues for other clients in the future."
