"Corey did a fantastic job repairing our water damaged floors and blending them in with the rest of the flooring. It blends so well, you can't even tell it was patched. Corey and his team were very professional, leaving everything clean and put back in place once they completed their job. We would definitely hire Hakuna Matata Construction again!"

"Lucy's Flooring delivered what they said. Their workmanship was impeccable. At the end of the day everything was neat and clean. I highly recommend them if you need your hardwood floors refinished. My floors were installed in 1750 and they now look like they were just put in."

Customers say: Quality work

"Screened the hardwood floors and applied lacquer... Cons: Under quoted, and asked for more money. Took longer than originally scheduled. Several spots on the floor were missed with lacquer. Lacquer scratches off way too easily. Some slight bubbling on a few smaller areas. Pros: Did a very good job excepting the above cons. Did not get lacquer on any molding. Did a very thorough job of screening the floor and removing some old paint specs."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

You typically aren’t in any immediate danger if your floors are sagging, but that doesn’t mean you should leave them unattended. Sagging is likely a sign of underlying problems with the structure of your home, such as uneven subflooring or rotting joists. Have your floors inspected by a local carpenter as soon as possible to help you determine the type of repairs needed.

Stain-resistant carpet might be worth it for your household if you have children or pets and expect spills to happen. While it may cost more than you expected upfront, you may save money in the long run if you have to replace your carpet less frequently (thanks to stains not absorbing down into the fibers).

While carpet over carpet may provide some additional insulation and soundproofing benefits, it's not as effective as other methods. Layering carpets can add a modest buffer against noise and temperature fluctuations, but it's limited compared to installing thicker carpet padding or using specialized soundproofing materials. For optimal floor insulation and soundproofing, consider alternative solutions tailored to your specific needs and budget, such as adding additional padding or soundproofing underlayments beneath the carpet.

You can save money on labor costs by removing your old carpet before the professionals come in to install the new carpet. Just make sure to clear it with your contractor ahead of time. You might also be able to cut costs by buying carpet at certain times of year when it’s less expensive. These periods include late December to mid-January and late spring to early summer.

Some root cellars are made with concrete, but a dirt floor may be better for your crops' longevity. Dirt can help maintain an appropriate temperature and humidity level, while the concrete might suck up all the moisture. Dirt floors can also bring down the overall cost of your root cellar. But, if you’re going with a dirt floor, make sure you properly insulate between your house and the root cellar.
