"I love my new windows! Everyone at ProEdge was friendly and professional, including Brian the sales rep, Bill the manager, and the installers who did an amazing job replacing nearly all of the windows in my house in only half a day, leaving all work areas in pristine condition before leaving. The lifetime warranty is another bonus that you just do not see from most other companies. I will definitely be back in touch when I am ready to install my bay window!"

"We hired Mike last fall for a major project of removing 26 large multi-sized contemporary windows, and to replace them with new construction windows. A massive and daunting task when considering the scope of the project. He and his proficient work crew did an exemplary job finalizing the project beyond our expectations. We appreciated his ongoing communication, professional skills, attention to detail, the cleanliness of the worksite, and respect for our home. He completed the project, within the budget, which was a fair and competitive price and in a timely manner. Mike takes pride in his work, and no corners are cut. We recently rehired Mike to replace 3 multi-paneled sliding glass doors with stationary side panels which was also done equally well. We would highly recommend Goodman Builders to anyone seeking professional work, a knowledgeable, skilled, and respectful work crew, and value for your dollar."

"Initial meeting for estimate went well, but custom skylights were proposed.ย  Since they knew the source of the windows, they could make them to fit exactly the shafts the old ones were fit to.ย  Estimated completion of the entire project - 3-5 weeks, depending on the delivery of the skylights.ย  From that point, I had ti initiate calls to check status every week starting week 3.ย  Responses were "not in yet".
Once delivered to their warehouse, we got another week delay/ย  Explanation was plausible - this work needed their best crew, which were on a project that was extending. Expecting a two day effort. ย  Then we were facing weather delays (both on that project and mine).ย  When they did show (rain predicted for following day), the crew was very efficient in stripping off old shingles, extending the eaves, and installing the new skylights.ย  Managed to cover the roof with ice shield before leaving that evening, in the event..ย  Completed the rest before the rain came the next day.
First - they removed the gutter to do their work, but it was not their job to replace it.ย  Second, the corner trim, which was to be replaced was also not theirs to do.ย  Third, the additional aluminum wrap took another crew, which was not currently scheduled. So my calls to the office initiated those processes.ย  The wrapping was done, but corner boards were "special", so they needed to come out an determine what they needed to be.ย  I had provided them the details at the initial estimate meeting, and again, in my e,ai response to the company, including the webpage and measurements for the AZEK product they needed.ย  Still came out to measure, and was surprised that they were what I told them they were.ย  They needed to order and install.
That process took another week, and they did the actual installation on Sunday.ย  Since we were not living in the house at the time, I needed to make special trips each time, one hour each way.
In all the 3-5 week project took over 10 weeks, and then only because I kept on them.
Finally - the work was very well done.ย  Each individual crew did their piece with professionalism and expertise.ย  Very pleased with the outcome.ย  The only issue I have is with the coordination and communication from the company.ย  Seemingly unaware of the timelines, coordinating supplies and timing.ย  They continued to use the incorrect address and phone number when trying to contact me, which added to some frustration (major)ย  and delay (minor).ย  I had used them on previous gutter projects - their LeafGuards are excellent..ย  If you make it simple, they should be able to complete the project with little concern.ย  My custom skylights created a real issue for this one.

"Luckily, they had to come back because they left a ladder at my house. Martin Duran, I think the owner was great and professional on the phone. There were many touch-ups and areas that needed to be fixed and he assured me his guys would do it. It was all finished very well. This was my first time using a window cleaner, so I now know to look at each window carefully, especially the sills and tracks which many weren't cleaned. I do plan on using them again because of the owners responsiveness for customer satisfaction."

Windows questions, answered by experts

To find and hire a reputable contractor for an egress window installation, you should first research local professionals and then vet your top candidates. Start by searching for local contractors who specialize in this type of work, read their customer reviews, and examine their website and portfolio. Once you have a shortlist, contact them to ask key questions: Are you licensed and insured? What is your specific experience installing egress windows? Can you provide references from previous customers? Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors? What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule? How do you handle payment?

Visibility through tinted house windows or privacy film depends on the lighting. During the day, the tint or film typically prevents people from seeing inside. However, at night, if you have lights on inside your home, the interior will be brighter than the outside, which allows people to see in. You can choose from various shades of privacy film, from lighter to darker, to optimize the level of privacy you want.

You will need about half of a caulking cartridge to caulk one window. The average home has eight to 10 windows, so you would need about 4 or 5 cartridges to caulk every window in an average-sized house. However, you may not need to caulk all the windows at once. If just one window has a pesky draft, you may only need half of a cartridge to fill in the gaps.

Double-pane windows cost an average of $900 per window. The price range for double-pane windows goes as low as $300 and as high as $4,500 per window. This window type differs from single-pane windows by spacers separating the panes and helping strengthen them while holding them in place. A gas like argon or krypton typically fills the space between the panes.

Windows can crack for various reasons. Common causes include aging glass, physical impact, and temperature stress. A less common reason is pressure changes, which are far less predictable. Pressure changes often happen because of poor window placement.
