"The Perez crew replaced my patio and walls. The location of this patio required them to wheel barrel the gravel quite a distance. They made so many trips and they started and finished within a week. They cleaned up, replanted perennials and planted grass. It looks beautiful."

"Leonard and his crew did a magnificent job rebuilding a set of stone steps topped with concrete slab and repairing a field stone foundation wall that water had damaged. He and his crew are both skilled artisans and artists. He is polite, honest, and hard-working, and his services, quite reasonably priced, are worth every penny spent. Hire this man."

"Aaron Lenker add Corbin Gillichbauer of Groundworks leveled concrete walks around my corner lot in Montoursville Pa. They arrived around noon time and were finished about 5 1/2 hours later. They did their work very professionally. They did an excellent job. I would rate their work 5 of 5 stars."

"Professionalism at it’s best. I applaud James and his valuable team for the great job they did in completing the challenging first phase of my backyard project. The project commenced right away, and his team wasted no time to deliver my expectations. My first phase included.. • Filling in the old inground pool with stone from a dismantled 9’ stone wall in yard. • Adding additional material to fill in gaps in the big hole then compacting said area with a commercial heavy-duty compactor to ensure a future level patio with firepit. • Designed a beautiful patio area with Nicolock pavers. • Installation of a sophisticated drainage system to preclude any sitting water accumulation. • Regrading yard, bringing in about 2 triaxles of loom carried into backyard by wheelbarrows, due to limitations with ingress and egress. This helped to lessen the steep hill to allow for a softer, gradual sloping of yard. Additional 4-5 axels to be brought in during second phase. • Transplanting very large, mature, evergreens to another location in yard My past hardship experiences with inept and unscrupulous contractors helped me to recognize a truly genuine contractor, like James. He boasts integrity and is truly impeccable with his word. What he says, he delivers. James is onsite, making certain his team follows his directive. When I had any questions, concerns, changes, with the scope of work James responded quickly and without hesitation. He had also gone out of his way to provide recommendations as to how I can correct areas of concern in my expansion joints in my concrete driveway independently. James has a very creative mind and is easy and comfortable to work with. I appreciate him helping to take my vision and turn it into a reality. My new patio area with firepit is awesome! Thank you, James and team! My next large phase of construction is forthcoming. It will include hardscape and landscape with stone wall and installation of Trex privacy fencing along with hydroseeding once weather is appropriate. I look forward to working with James and his team again to begin my second phase."

Concrete Walls questions, answered by experts

Brick walls are typically more expensive than concrete walls due to higher material and labor costs. Brick wall costs can range from $10 to $45 per square foot, plus $70 to $110 per hour for labor. Meanwhile, concrete block walls usually cost $10 to $20 per square foot, depending on the material type. Labor for concrete tends to be less intensive and costly. Ultimately, concrete is often the more affordable choice, especially for larger projects.

Professionals provide long-lasting, structurally sound, and aesthetically appealing concrete surfaces tailored to business needs.

In most cases, you will need a building permit for cement work on your property. You need a permit for any project that adds a permanent foundation on your property—which, in most cases, includes even a flat slab of concrete poured directly on the ground. Building permits for concrete projects usually cost between $100 and $500, although this can get higher for larger projects. You can always ask your cement company if a permit is necessary for your project, and the expert will typically pull the permit for you to save you time and energy.

Any bowing in a basement wall indicates a problem that needs to be addressed by a professional. If your basement wall bows more than 1 inch, it's time for an inspection. Generally, a wall can bow up to 30% of its thickness (around 2.5 inches for an 8-inch-thick wall) before it becomes an urgent situation. Bowing of 2 to 4 inches is more straightforward to fix than bowing of more than 4 inches, which will require significant repairs. If the bowing is more than 6 inches, the wall will likely need to be replaced. The sooner you address the problem, the easier and less expensive the repair will be.

Concrete houses cost 10% to 20% more to build than stick-built homes, and maintenance on home systems is more invasive and expensive due to pipes and wires being buried in concrete. Concrete homes can also look more industrial and less comfortable if you don’t cover the concrete with finishing materials. It’s also more challenging to make changes to concrete, so reframing doors and windows or building home additions will cost more. Concrete needs time to cure, too, so the timeline to build a house out of concrete is a bit longer.
