"I cannot say enough positive things about Action windows. From the informative and non-pushy sales person to the incredible installation crew, it was a very positive experience. The price for the high quality windows was very competitive and fair. The installation crew was on time and very considerate. I work from home and they really worked around me. The cleaned up everything"

"Ray arrived at the scheduled appt time and promptly went to work. He was replacing a pane on an old antique door. He was polite, respectful, and listened to my concerns, which he addressed. After removing the glass, he left to go purchase a new pane, and returned quickly, finishing up the job in about 15 more minutes. In all, it took an hour Very professional and knowledgeable, from start to finish. Would definitely recommend this service!"

"I highly recommend Seven Sun for their quality workmanship! I am very pleased with the replacement windows Seven Sun installed in my home. Sales & installation are done by the owners. I really appreciated dealing with the owners rather than a middle man. I got quotes from a number of contractors, Seven Sun gave the best price. And after seeing their workmanship, I recommend you contact them first. ZZ is an efficient, meticulous craftsman and perfectionist. All work was preplanned and executed with flawless attention to detail. Once each window was expertly installed, Justine vacuumed the area and spotlessly cleaned both the inside & outside of the glass. 21 existing windows were removed & replaced with new on the first day. On the second day, all the exterior wood trim, with peeling paint, was covered with aluminum. It was a beautiful job - my house now looks great!"

"Layr installed UV protection film on my windows and were a thoroughly professional outfit from beginning to end. Their crew is experienced and friendly and inspired confidence from my first phone call to the project's conclusion. The tech who came to my home and did the work was first-rate -- focused and conscientious, he was clearly committed to the company and his job, was protective of my home, and respectful and good-natured. Highly recommended."

Glass and Mirrors questions, answered by experts

When glass shatters, larger shards quickly drop to the ground, but smaller particles can go on an airborne journey up to 15 feet from the point of impact. So check under furniture, along the edges of rugs, and in dark corners for glass fragments. When in doubt, vacuum the entire room a few times after thoroughly cleaning.

Yes, smart glass can be blacked out. Blackout smart glass allows homeowners to turn windows from transparent to blacked out instantaneously.

Smart glass may still work at night, but it depends on the type of smart glass. Some options, smart tint, are controlled by outdoor heat and light and therefore will turn back to transparent at night. Other types can provide a frosted look for some privacy at night. For example, you can turn PDLC smart glass completely opaque any time, day or night.

Broken glass cannot usually be recycled. Most recycling programs state that glass must be intact in the form of bottles or jars in order to be recycled. You may be able to recycle broken glass at a drop-off recycling facility—contact the facility to see if they accept broken glass.

White vinegar, water, and baking soda create a natural cleaning solution that is highly effective against brown stains on the oven door. Mix one cup of baking soda, one-fourth cup of water, and one teaspoon of vinegar into a paste. Spread it evenly onto the oven glass and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Then, scrape the mixture off with a plastic spatula. Wipe the glass with white vinegar to remove any remaining baking soda.
