"Marc was an excellent and very responsive communicator throughout the entire process! His pricing is fair and competitive and, as promised, there were no surprises from his end. His crew was thorough, professional and meticulous. We had all of the windows in our 1948 home (and 1960s addition) replaced at once. I get pretty anxious about having work done in our home, but Marc listened well, allayed my concerns and followed through on all of his commitments to us. Our house had some surprises and complications that arose during our window install and Marc's crew was very balanced and thorough in their response and in finding solutions. His team does beautiful work, which impressed me throughout the project. We did have a couple of issues arise and Marc addressed everything right away, even personally coming by each time to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. We give Highland Window Co. our highest recommendation!"

"Absolutely a better experience than we anticipated. ProEdge is a responsive company, and they know the value of customer service. We will be reaching back out to have them complete our window projects once our addition is completed, and to replace exterior doors."

Customers say: Quality work

"Not only did they install all my vinyl siding but they replaced some windows and sliding door. This job was done a few years ago. Recently I contacted them for a repair. They were out here the next day and took care of the piece of facia that came off in a storm. Did a beautiful job, were quick, polite and told me if I needed anything else to give them a call. They back their workmanship and products 100%."

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

Window seals don’t last forever, so they’ll inevitably fail for one reason or another. One of the most common reasons is the expansion and contraction of the glass. When the glass gets warm from sunlight, it expands and adds pressure to the seal; at night, as the glass cools, it contracts. This process, day in and day out, can eventually cause the seal to fail. Other common sources of failure include the house settling over time, chemicals that damage the seal when repainting windows, and incorrect window installation.

To ensure the longevity and smooth functioning of new windows, regular maintenance is essential. This includes cleaning the glass and frames, inspecting seals for leaks or damage, and reapplying caulking as needed. It is also important to lubricate all moving parts and operating mechanisms to ensure they continue to operate smoothly.

Drafts, condensation between panes, difficulty operating, or visible frames or glass damage are signs of needed repairs.

While sometimes used interchangeably, screen doors and storm doors have key differences. Screen doors are simple structures, typically composed of just a frame and a screen, designed to keep out bugs while allowing air circulation. In contrast, storm doors are heavier and more complex, built to protect your home's main entry door from weather and intruders. They usually feature an aluminum frame with interchangeable tempered glass and screen panels, allowing you to switch between ventilation and insulation. A storm door offers more protection and versatility but generally costs more than a basic screen door.

Solar screens use a thick mesh of polyester to block out the UV waves and solar heat. While they are more expensive at about $7.50 per square foot, they can protect your porch or hardwood floors from sun damage and keep the room or porch on the other side of the patio cool.
