"They (Robert and John) gave me clear answers to all questions that I asked. They were friendly and professional and clearly explained all my options. "This was the second time we used H L Bowman for our plumbing needs and we have been impressed both times. Their plumbers are prompt, courteous, and friendly, in addition to being great at their craft. For this visit, I had a leak under a kitchen sink and did not realize that I needed to have the entire faucet replaced. The plumber recommended the closest plumbing supply store and waited while I selected the one I wanted. He efficiently did the replacement. Very happy with H L Bowman and would highly recommend them."

"I highly recommend. I was "working" with another firm that kept stringing me along and after weeks had not even diagnosed the problem with my 50 year-old system. John called and talked me through everything and within a couple days had dug test pits and gotten sign-off from the health department on the replacement system. A week later it was done. The whole team was professional and friendly. John explained every step and component. He also has a good relationship with the Southington inspectors which helped move the process along quickly. I didn't shop around price but based on what neighbors have spent in the past and the range that the "other guy" was quoting, I believe I got a good value. I recommend John Bensavage without hesitation."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

If asbestos is found, it is crucial to consult with a professional. They will provide recommendations for appropriate abatement actions, which may include safe removal, containment, sealing, or enclosure. All actions must be planned and executed in accordance with local regulations for handling asbestos.

Federal law doesn’t require homeowners to disclose the presence of asbestos in their home, but some states and local municipalities may require it. That is why it’s important to test an older home for asbestos and other health hazards before moving forward with a sale.

Whether or not to buy a home containing asbestos is ultimately a decision for the homebuyer, and there are several things to consider. When in good condition and contained, asbestos is unlikely to present a health risk—it’s when those tiny fibers are loose and airborne that they become a problem. Consider any renovations you plan on doing to the home that could disturb existing asbestos and the cost of removal. If an inspection finds asbestos in a home on the market, you could negotiate with the seller for a lower price, though this isn’t a sure thing.

When learning how to test for asbestos in a popcorn ceiling, you have an option for a DIY job or to hire a professional tester. You can purchase a kit at a hardware store and use personal protective equipment while doing the test. If you don’t want to risk any potential exposure to asbestos, hire a professional asbestos testing company instead.

Asbestos has many beneficial properties, including fire resistance, strength, and chemical resistance. It is also an excellent insulator, which is why it was used in pipe insulation and other building materials for decades. For all its benefits, asbestos is dangerous for human health, which is why it was eventually banned from use in certain products.
