"Tony arrived at the agreed time. He was professional, courteous, and answered any and all questions I had. This is the second time I hired him to service/pump our tank (last time was about 2 years ago) and I plan to hire him again when our next service is due. His prices are competitive and his professionalism is top notch. I highly recommend him to everyone requiring his services. "Steve is very knowledgeable and efficient on the installation of a new septic with pump. He cares about how he leaves the landscape when he is done and greatly improved how things were before. Not to mention the best price we received."

"I think their coverage is a little spotty. You have to look at the document very carefully. It seems random to me. I reported a problem once and once I used the word "septic" they wouldn't cover it. Another time I didn't say it and then they covered it. You have to be really careful about how you phrase things."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

We’ve explained how deep-rooted plants can damage a septic tank from the outside, but plenty of things can ruin it from the inside, too. For example, flushing bulky items (like paper towels, diapers, and wipes) can clog your septic tank. Cooking oil, grease, and household chemicals can also harm your system. And since a new septic system costs between $3,460 and $11,450, it’s worth following these guidelines.

A septic tank riser features a base ring that you need to install flush to the opening of the septic tank. After thoroughly cleaning the opening of the tank, fit the base ring over the opening and use a butyl sealant rope to create an airtight seal with the tank’s rim. Cut the riser rings to the appropriate height and stack them on the base ring. Then, install the riser lid. This task might be taken on by an experienced DIYer, but you should always call a septic tank professional if you are unsure of your skills.

Having a well means that a household’s water supply, including water that comes through faucets, showerheads, and appliances, is supplied through a private source rather than from a city. The well pulls fresh water from an underground water supply, such as an aquifer, and the well pump pushes the water from the well to your household.

To determine the right size for your submersible well pump, find your well depth, water demand, and well casing diameter. The pump should match your well's specifications and meet or exceed your drawdown and pressure requirements.

For precise sizing, make sure to research the different well pump sizes, consult the manufacturer's recommendations, or seek guidance from a professional well pump installer.

Normally, when your well pump turns on or off, you’ll hear a small click. This isn’t anything to worry about, but it can be a problem if it’s clicking continuously. This can indicate that the well pump is short cycling—the pump continuously turns on and off.

This can wear out the motor and provide uneven water flow. If this happens, you may need to get it looked at by a well pump professional to see if you need to repair the switch or pump.
