"Al and James completed my annual maintenance yesterday and they were very professional. They fixed some plumbing issues on my sump pump and fortified the sump pump outlet piping to prevent possible further issues. They also took special care to replace and improved upon the original floor linear over the sump pump and left the crawl space spotless."

"Tyler was proactive about following up ahead of time for our previously discussed work. He arrived as scheduled, and completed plumbing unhookup and rehookup after we had our countertops replaced. He also completed some electrical switch swaps, got our garbage disposal reinstalled after a drain reconfig, and did some extra support for our bar top. Very neat, friendly and flexible. Highly recommended!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Consider Vail noise ordinances and access restrictions, which limit heavy construction activity during the busy ski season. Adding new fixtures increases water demand, requiring approval and fee recalculations from the local water district. Short-term rental licenses depend on successful inspections, so schedule work accordingly. Drain and vent systems require specific high-altitude designs to function correctly. Always coordinate with neighbors when altering shared systems in multi-family buildings.

Helpful?

Start by securing the proper permits for your specific jurisdiction, as requirements differ between town limits and the surrounding county. Verify your contractor holds an active Colorado license. For condos, secure approval from your homeowners association before altering shared systems. Document all existing heat tape and shutoff valves to create a solid freeze-protection plan. Finally, coordinate with the local water district for any service line adjustments.

Helpful?

Combining plumbing with other upgrades is highly recommended in Vail. The local construction season is short due to snow and resort restrictions. Bundle your projects to avoid reopening walls across multiple seasons. Coordinate trades during rental gaps to maximize efficiency. Simultaneous scheduling for radiant heating and domestic pipes works perfectly since they share the rough-in phase. This approach ensures your property remains intact and functional.

Helpful?

Address any freeze-risk issue immediately. Failing pipe insulation or malfunctioning heat tape creates a catastrophic hazard as winter approaches in Vail. Schedule these urgent repairs by late summer to secure a contractor before the seasonal rush. Complete necessary upgrades before extended vacancy periods or peak rental seasons. Proactive scheduling during the shoulder season protects your property from severe damage and prevents significant disruptions to your home.

Helpful?

Freeze protection is the most critical factor for plumbing in CO. Proper pipe insulation and heat tape installation prevent severe damage during sub-zero temperatures. High-altitude environments require properly rated water heaters to ensure safe and efficient operation. Implement reliable shutoff and drain-down procedures to protect vacant homes during winter. Hire local professionals who understand these high-altitude demands to keep your systems running safely and effectively.
