"Tyler was proactive about following up ahead of time for our previously discussed work. He arrived as scheduled, and completed plumbing unhookup and rehookup after we had our countertops replaced. He also completed some electrical switch swaps, got our garbage disposal reinstalled after a drain reconfig, and did some extra support for our bar top. Very neat, friendly and flexible. Highly recommended!"

"We call CraigStar for everything! Craig has repaired our appliances (oven, ice maker, dishwasher, dryer), installed a chandelier for us, fixed our toilets, fixed our radiant heating system and most recently has repaired drywall for us. The first year that we moved into our home we ran into many issues that needed repairs. Craig always does a great job in a timely manner. The things have been fixed have been working great and have not needed any more attention."

"He was very efficient and seemed to know what he was doing. He did a lot of stuff in the time he was here and extra things I needed done, he took care of it. He will come back tomorrow to install a water heater and he takes care of all plumbing issues."

"Hydronix did several things for us, including venting, piping and ductwork. They were easy to work with and they did a great job. Their estimates were delivered timely and the work was completed on time and within budget. We added onto the scope a couple of times and there was no problem doing so. They are really capable and honest—they do the job the right way. I highly recommend Hydronix."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

No, the pink ring in your toilet bowl isn’t a hard water stain but a type of bacteria called Serratia marcescens. This bacteria can also cause pinkish stains in other areas of your bathroom, like around your tub, shower curtains, and faucets. Thankfully, it’s considered to be harmless. However, if you or anyone in your household is immunocompromised, it can cause issues like urinary tract infections. You can clean the pink ring with bleach and a plastic brush. Wear gloves and goggles when using bleach, and always work in a well-ventilated room.

While the toilet bowl and toilet tank require haul away to your curb, landfill, or recycling center, you can dispose of your old, used toilet seat in your regular garbage collection. If your toilet seat is plastic or duroplast, you can even recycle it instead at a local recycling facility.

Sealant doesn’t need to be applied to the bolts, but it can be a good way to stop an active leak in the moment. However, don’t rely on it as a cure-all; instead, make sure to fix the problem at the source by changing or tightening the bolts.

If you do use sealant, make sure to spread it thickly and evenly across the bolts and the tank's porcelain.

Yes, many services include removing and disposing of old toilets. Confirm with your provider.

Yes, you should screw your flange to the subfloor, including cement. The best way to get this done is to predrill holes into the concrete using a hammer drill and a ¼-inch concrete bit. Be careful when you’re ready to bolt your flange down, as you can accidentally crack it. You can avoid this issue by not installing the screws too deep. Or, you can opt for a flange with a stainless steel ring so you don’t have to worry about cracking the plastic.
