"Aaron was absolutely fantastic to work with! When he made his bid, he's stuck firmly with the cost didn't change anything after the work was complete. Removed a very dead extremely tall Cottonwood from our front yard. Cleaned up all the waste from the project and hauled it off. They did an exceptional job removing the tree and we are very very happy with the results! We no longer have to worry about our huge tree falling during a high wind or ice storm and ruining either our home or our neighbors homes, nor ruining our vehicles or our neighbors vehicles!! Very very trustworthy company and speaks to you honestly and with integrity! We would highly recommend Northern Colorado tree services to anyone looking to remove any type of tree! Thank you!"

"Top-Notch tree service has really lived up to its name every time I've used them. They've trimmed trees for me as well as taking out trees that unfortunately had to go. Their people are extremely skilled at what they do and have taken on Jobe requiring a huge crane to complete. I've literally never been concerned about any aspect of what they advised needing to be done."

"Hernandez tree service was phenomenal. They were timely, presentable and overall good to work with. They did a removal of a large dead tree. As well as a trim on a smaller tree. The dead tree removal was in between my house and the neighbor's house and there were zero problems. They worked swiftly and accurately. I would highly recommend for any tree services you may need."

"We were quoted for the tree and stump removal. I chose Front Range Tree Experts for the price of the overall project. The stump was not able to be removed. I would have chosen a different company if I was just looking for the tree removal. But I did receive a referral to another company for the stump removal which was kind of Front Range Tree Experts. Very friendly, good work and apologized for not being able to complete the project."

"They made a tough job look easy. I needed two trees felled in a tight space and they nailed it. I just had Artisans drop the trees across my driveway and into the front yard. I took care of cutting everything to fireplace size and cleaning up and hauling away the debris. Next time I'll have them do the whole job. (A sadder man but wiser now...) I still have two stumps to grub out. Oh baby. The reason I did not give them 5 on Customer Service is they were pretty slow on responding to contact requests. I found Ben to be a very pleasant person."

"TEN STARS!!!!!!! thats what I would rate AP EXCAVATION$LANDSCAPING if it were possible. Took down my split 50ft tall tree, removed the branch from my neighbors' house, removed the 30'+ long branch along the side of my house and cleaned the area so it looked like nothing happened. This company is the BEST! Not to mention they were the only one to contact me back. I will recomend them to everyone I know who needs a tree service."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

How often and long you should water a tree depends on the species and if it is mature or newly planted. The amount of water is also based on the tree's size. A good rule of thumb is approximately 5 gallons per inch of the trunk's diameter.

Adjusting watering to the recommended suggestions for the tree type and weather conditions is vital. For instance, watering trees during a drought is necessary, and you may need to water more frequently than usual.

Yes, it can be good to remove dead branches from trees. Dead branches can lead to rot in other areas of the tree. They can also cause damage if they fall on a house, shed, fence, car, pool, or other structure or property. However, it’s important that dead branch removal is done safely. If the branch is high in a tree or requires a lift or ladder to access, consider calling a professional tree removal company, as they will have the experience and equipment to do the job safely.

Opt for a barefoot tree. Pros harvest barefoot trees when they’re dormant (leafless). They shake the dirt from the root ball and pack it in moist material.

These trees can cost half as much as the trees at your local nursery, and you can buy them online—so there’s a much wider selection. Just make sure you keep your barefoot tree cool until you’re ready to plant it.

White vinegar does not kill ivy on trees because its acetic acid concentration is not high enough to overpower it. Vinegar is an effective herbicide for weeds and other plants, but not for the strength of most ivies, including poison ivy and English ivy. You should use an herbicide to kill ivy, such as one with glyphosate, imazapyr, or triclopyr.

Planting a palm tree close to your home can provide shade while elevating the beauty of your yard. However, there are a few safety concerns to consider before doing so. You’ll want to opt for a smaller tree with a non-invasive root system. Select a species that won’t grow too tall and choose a planting location that won’t damage your home.
