"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ K & C Heating Plumbing and Cooling is simply the best! They first installed my furnace and AC, and I was so impressed with their work, that I had them back for a second project to replace my hot water heater. Just like before, they took care of everything, worked efficiently, and cleaned up perfectly. I’ll continue to use and recommend them."

"I cannot say enough for the character of both Fred & Rachel Clark. To say they went above and beyond expectations is an understatement. I was at a loss on how to solve a problem for a customer that had installed a mini split unit with several intricacies and conditions that made it difficult to complete. Rachel was incredibly personable and easy to deal with over the phone and in person throughout the process, from scheduling the service call, to collecting final payment. Fred was on time, gave me several pieces of advice and insight that he in no way, was required to, and made sure that I had everything I needed when he left. I got more than my money's worth for the times that he showed up, and when he left, I had peace of mind that a true professional had been there. Thank you Fred & Rachel, For anyone looking at HVAC services in this area, there are companies that are good at what they do, and then there is Clark's Mechanical, a step far above the rest."

"Jeffrey came to work on air conditioner and he was great. He listened to what I had to say as well as answered my questions in a manner I was able to understand. I will be calling R Buck back every year for maintenance on furnace and air conditioner. Also, I used a coupon and that was just an extra beyond service."

"I had an issue with my computer where it was opening lots of pop ups, ad bars, and windows with ads for games. I had tried several different programs to try to remove it with no luck. I finally decided to call North Alabama Technical Service to see if I he could help. I was expecting to set up a time for him to look at it but he connected to my computer immediately and within an hour had it fixed and running perfect again. Great service at a great price and I didn't even have to disconnect it and carry it somewhere! Would call again if I have another issue I can't resolve myself."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

When faced with HVAC issues, it's best to begin by ensuring the thermostat settings are correct for either heating or cooling. If the system isn't responding, check the thermostat for proper function and power supply. It's also important to examine air filters, as clogged ones can decrease performance. Confirm the power supply to the system by checking the circuit breakers and fuses. If these basic steps fail to resolve the issue, contact an HVAC professional for a more detailed diagnosis and repair.

Trick question: There is no difference between an AC and a furnace blower motor. Whether you have central air and heat or just one of these, the same blower motor carries hot and cold air throughout the ductwork in your home. Certain systems may have separate blower motors for the AC and furnace, but each serves the same function.

Yes, HVAC zoning systems offer energy savings by allowing precise temperature control in different zones in your home. Rather than conditioning the whole house uniformly, these systems direct airflow where needed, preventing energy waste. Tailoring comfort to specific areas reduces energy consumption and lowers utility costs, making HVAC zoning an energy-efficient choice.

Yes, technicians check refrigerant levels, loop performance, and system calibration for peak efficiency.

When first installed, flex ducts shouldn’t cause airflow problems in your home. However, because flex ducts aren’t the sturdiest and require extra support, they lose their durability over time and begin to sag, which can inhibit airflow down the road. Also, if your flex ducts aren’t tight enough, your HVAC could work twice as hard for the same air pressure. If you’re worried about the airflow in your home, a rigid duct may be your best bet.
