"No project was to big for Robert! I had total of 6 tall elm trees that Robert and his company was able to service , four that needed to be taken down and two that needed to be trimmed. All the trees were in bad shape with YEARS of growth and neglect, many hanging over my, my neighbors homes, power lines and street area. Robert mentioned that he does his work climbing and with ropes. It was amazing to watch, my neighbors enjoyed the free entertainment during the project. It was very obvious that Robert enjoyed his work. Was able to perform the service like a master surgeon, taking down each branch, limb, and trunk with the greatest of care and skill. Robert was my highest bidder for the job, however it was his professionalism that sold the job. He really cares for each tree, it's health and growth. Robert provided the necessary documents to assure me that he was able to handle the job in a safe and responsible manner. With good communication we were able to meet the needs of removing and providing some of the wood for personal use. My only concern is some of the larger trunk pieces will be brought down to manageable size . It was a pleasure to have Robert do this work. I will recommend him for any of your tree care. "Chris and Crew did a great job of removing a Silver Maple tree that over hung my house and my nextdoor neighbor's house. They were great to work with and the price was right."

"Luke was amazing. He gave us a quick quote that was reasonable. He started and worked when he said he would. He kept us updated and sent pictures afterward. The quality of his work was excellent. I was so pleased with his work. He went above and beyond by doing a couple extra things for us as we were out of state. I would and will recommend him to anyone looking for a professional quality painter!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

It depends on the type of tree. Typically, late spring on the cusp of winter is ideal for trees about to emerge from dormancy and produce new buds. That said, late fall is ideal for certain deciduous trees prone to bleeding sap. Avoid trimming trees in early spring, when they’re prone to disease.

Transporting a fully-grown tree requires heavy equipment, typically specialized for the task. A tree spade is a truck-mounted tool that removes the tree from the ground in one location, transports it, and places it in a new hole in a new location. A combination of mechanized shovels and lifts is necessary to move very large trees, and the exact tools often depend on location and the surrounding area.

Yes, tree roots can regenerate after they’re pruned or cut. In fact, trimming can stimulate new growth, especially in healthy trees. The tree’s roots can still grow back even after a tree is cut down, (and learning how to get rid of regrowing tree roots is a separate feat). Still, if you don’t wish to harm a tree, pruning the roots should be done with extreme care, and ideally by a professional.

It’s not as common for Dutch elm disease to affect other types of trees, especially if the surrounding trees aren’t elms. However, it is possible for DED to spread to other trees, particularly in northern states, like Minnesota. In fact, it’s a good idea to use geography to identify wood and determine which types of trees are in your yard.

Unfortunately, the complex and shallow root system of elm trees makes surrounding elm trees particularly vulnerable to DED. Early discovery is key!

Sudden oak death and oak wilt are different diseases. Oak wilt first shows up in tree leaves while sudden oak death affects the branches and trunk. However, as symptoms in both can overlap, it’s best to consult a professional arborist tree expert for a proper diagnosis and development of a treatment plan.
