"Kelly is a top-notch professional who was a pleasure to hire and work with for this installation. Not only did EV Pros LLC have the most reasonable quote they also had the most experiece of the service providers I met with for this project. All of my questions were answered with easy to understand explanations and I also received great advice on how to maintain and care for my charger so that it has a long shelf-life. I would hire EV Pros LLC again."

"So happy we called Mr. Electric. He was polite and very professional. He installed our new light fixture in the dining room and an electric charger in the garage for my husband?s new EV, which he loves. The fan in the den was going wonky, so the Mr. Electric fixed that too. He talked to us about solar panels, since we?ve been considering it. We?ll definitely call him when we decide. Thanks, Mr. Electric!"

"Pop Chris Fackler and the JC2 Lighting and Electrical team are the best electricians I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They are professional, knowledgeable and can work on any electrical project. Chris is responsive and excellent at explaining the requirements and the course of action that is needed for repairs and installations. We have had some very difficult electrical issues-because of Chris and his tenacity he was able to find the cause of our problem and correct work done by another company. I highly recommend Chris and his team. There simply is no one better to call."

"Great experience. Had an old stove switched out and hauled off. The electrical work ended up being more extensive then the original quote, but the guys were very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. Work was handled with care and completed in a timely manor. Great service, will definitely be hiring them again in the future."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Yes, California law requires that electricians be licensed by the state in order to do electrical work. However, there is an exception for small jobs valued at $500 or less. In these cases, an unlicensed handyperson is legally allowed to do the work. Limit hiring unlicensed contractors to minor tasks and fixes around your home.

Just like apples in a bunch, one bad outlet can cause other outlets to stop working. This is especially true if the outlets are connected in a series on the same circuit. When one outlet develops a fault, it can spread to every outlet downstream of the original.

A 10,000-watt generator can run a small to mid-sized central AC unit (typically up to 3 tons or 36,000 BTU) along with a few other appliances. However, larger AC units or additional loads will require a bigger generator. Consult a local generator installer to ensure you add the correct size generator to your home.

Daisy-chaining refers to placing multiple GFCI outlets in a row along the same circuit. This won’t do any harm, but it’s of limited usefulness because a properly-placed GFCI can monitor all downstream outlets on its own. Multiple GFCI installations won’t usually increase safety except in special cases.

String lights require electricity, but not an excessive amount, especially when compared to other lighting fixtures. LED rope lights, for instance, consume around one watt per foot. Running six or seven light strings simultaneously should only cost you around $10 to $15 each month. You can save even more money by remembering to turn off your lights during daylight hours.
