Do you like the layout of your kitchen, but don't like the way your cabinets look? Then cabinet refacing might be a good option for you. This mini-makeover changes the style and color of your cabinets in less time than a full kitchen remodel. Add new countertops and a backsplash or enhance your kitchen's functionality by adding an island or in-cabinet organization features. Plus you can still use your kitchen and appliances during the quick 3 to 5 day install.

M&E Painting is family-owned and operated in Northern Colorado. We offer interior and exterior painting, surface repairs; deck and fence staining. Matt Shoup founded M&E Painting in 2005. Matt painted his way through college and in 2004 married his college sweetheart, Emily (the “E” in M&E Painting). Since its beginning, M&E Painting focused on communication and accountability. Our dedication to these values allowed M&E Painting to grow quickly from a startup working out of a condo to a well-established painting company and community leader. M&E Painting has continued to grow and has developed into more than just a painting company. It is a catalyst to serve and enhance the Northern Colorado community. We will continue to grow and innovate while always remembering our mission and values. And of course the people who helped us reach this point!

"M&E ruined our brand new and very expensive deck because of the inferior product they recommended as a "stain". Within months the product began bubbling, cracking, and peeling. And the stain job was never right from day one...M&E and their workers seemed puzzled by how many coats it took to complete the job, which took longer than expected, and still there remained some areas that were unevenly stained. And, no prep work whatsoever (sanding etc.) was done. Then the cracking began, and now the stain even brushes off with the simple sweep of a broom. It is clear that the wood was not stained, but more like painted. We located a detailed evaluation of this product which concluded "Benjamin Moore’s Arborcoat is prone to peeling in cold weather states...and did not perform well on a newly built deck". It was also stated that within months "the Arborcoat had peeled significantly on the brand-new pine deck. Patches of the finish had peeled off the wood in strips. You could peel back large sections of stain with your fingers. The product did not seem to have penetrated into the wood at all." M&E initially responded by coming back on two separate occasions to paint over the areas that had peeled away, which was completely ineffective and did nothing to prevent future deterioration. M&E offered to come out a third time, which we initially declined. As matters continued to worsen, we contacted M&E once more, upon which they responded "You left this issue to get worse and not be addressed when we were willing to address it, and due to this, that issue is now between you and the manufacturer". M&E, I'm sure if you had come out a third time, our problems would be magically solved? So I guess it's our fault now. We trusted M&E to recommend the right product for the job, based on their experience, but they failed, and now we will have to pay another company thousands more $$ to refinish the deck using a suitable stain, since M&E has not offered to do so. Or, maybe I should be thanking M&E for going beyond the call of duty to come up and paint over a few cracked spots, since they do not warranty decks. Lesson learned and buyer beware! Summit Cabinet Coatings is northern Colorado’s premiere choice for upgrading and modernizing kitchen cabinets. Our process provides a beautiful, affordable, durable and convenient alternative to refacing or replacing out-dated or worn cabinetry. We specialize in creating the kitchen of your dreams out of the one you already have using solid opaque and accented glaze finishes over your existing cabinets. Our resurfacing process allows you to use your kitchen during the five business days that it requires to transform your cabinets. You can leave everything in your cabinets, and we only spend 2-3 days in your home refinishing the frames. (We can pretend it is more disruptive if you need an excuse to dine out.) The typical cost to refinish your cabinets using this method is 20% of the cost to replace, and half the cost to reface your cabinets. And we warranty the finish against cracking, fading, peeling and discoloring; it is as hard as oven-baked enamel. Call us today to schedule a no cost consultation!

We are a residential painting service. We take pride in providing homeowners with professional quality interior and exterior painting services. The owner, Mike Leverette, has been a painting contractor for over 30 years. All of the tradesmen that woulld work at your home are employees of Windsor Painting. We do not "sub-contract" our work.

"Summary: Mike from Windsor painting does high quality work at a very competitive price, and has a professional team working with him. The details: - How did we find Mike? A friend who apparently is very picky had Mike pain their house and they felt comfortable recommending Mike since he met their high standards for quality. - How did we first contact Mike. As some reviews have mentioned, Mike does primarily communicate by text. I find that useful because everything is in "writing" and Mike honors what he writes. As some have also said, Mike is busy and while you may not get a response immediately after you press send, you will get a response in a timely manner where nothing is rushed or there are no miscommunications. - What did we have done? We have a new condo and the builder actually painted the walls AND the ceiling the same color! The builder paint job was horrible, we surmised that they probably didn't even prime the drywall and sprayed the absolute thinnest coat they could get away with. So we had Mike come in to paint all the ceilings and three bedroom walls of a 1500 sq ft condo. - Mike's expertise. Another reviewer mentioned that Mike know more than the average person needs to know about paint. Ok, true, but he was the one that told me I needed a different finish (eggshell and not flat) on the bathroom ceilings. There was also spot in our bedroom where I applied a rather large area of test paint of a different color and then I painted over it with the builder paint. This matters because if Mike didn't know how to cover it properly my very large square would "show" after being painted because there were two extra layers of paint that I applied. Mike showed his team how to paint over that area where the test spot I did is almost invisible. - Mike and his team's process. Since we had all ceilings and three bedrooms to do the first day Mike showed up he had an army of people with him. It was Mike and three others. Like an orchestra conductor Mike directed everyone so no one had slack time. One guy is taking everything (lights, vents, switch plates etc.) off the walls and ceiling, another set of guys are moving furniture, another set are taping off the walls and dropping plastic to prep. I was impressed that within an hour or less, Mike was already starting to spray the living room, kitchen, and dining room ceiling. They repeated that process for the rest of the house and by the end of the first day all ceilings and two bathroom ceilings were painted. On the second day they started to tackle the bedrooms and would have finished three bedrooms on the second day but due to some emergencies that caused one of his team members to run a little late they finished up the next morning. I mention this because things come up in a business and Mike made sure that finishing my house was a priority and finished my house. He actually said in the beginning that this whole job was 2-3 days and it was done in 2 and a half days with the unforeseen events. - Mike and his team's work. After working with Mike, I would use one word to describe him and his crew - METICULOUS. Mike and his team see everything and nothing gets left unaddressed. In the end, all lines are straight, and there is no paint bleeding from wall to ceiling or vice versa. Sure some bleeding happens in the process but Mike and his crew go through at the end and touch up everything. All the walls were rolled perfectly and the ceiling paint was perfect. - Mike's Team. Mike and his team are all very professional, personable, and respectful. As I pointed things out throughout the job, they all listened and either explained things or just did what I requested without any attitude or making me feel like I was asking for something unreasonable. - Mike's Integrity. During the process of taping off the walls, there was a very small accident and something got damaged. When I mentioned it to Mike he took accountability and made good on the damage. - Mike's pricing. We had three people come and quote and Mike was very price competitive and certainly gave a more detailed quote breakdown than any of the other two. He basically quotes based on man hours. So it doesn't matter to you whether there is one person or ten doing the work. Do we recommend Mike from Windsor Painting? ABSOLUTELY. In fact, before they left we decided to have the walls of two of our bathrooms painted since we had a little extra paint and we are trying to schedule Mike to come out. Disclaimer: Up until 3 days ago, I have never met Mike before. I am not related to him nor associated with him or anyone on his team in any way. This is a true and honest review and I am receiving nothing from Mike to write this review. My motivation is to help you get information and to also support small independently owned local businesses."

Cabinet Refacing and Refinishing questions, answered by experts

First, start with any planned structural changes. That includes demolition and installing new gas lines, piping, or lighting. From there, complete any projects that require a lot of construction to install. Paint your walls while the space is mostly empty, install the cabinets before the countertops to ensure the former doesn’t get damaged, and save all cosmetic changes (like installing new light fixtures or hardware) for the very last moment.

Yes, with sustainable materials and energy-efficient appliances to reduce environmental impact.

Yes, professionals can change the stain color during refinishing by stripping old finishes and applying new stain. They offer expert color matching and application methods, resulting in a refreshed look that aligns with the homeowner's design preferences.

Professionals enhance kitchen functionality by optimizing layouts for workflow efficiency, incorporating modern storage solutions, and selecting high-quality appliances. They ensure the space is tailored to the homeowner’s needs, creating a kitchen that is both beautiful and practical.

Removing the original paint or stain before refinishing is a good idea, as it ensures the new finish bonds strongly to the wood. If you skip the stripping or sanding step, the new finish may peel or flake away from the railing easily. Using a wood stripper will completely remove the old stain or paint while sanding will help to prime the surface.
