"I would love to have given a highly recommended business a chance to earn a review of their quality of work and customer service...but they responded to a request for service they advised on the phone they "don't do." Wasted time and resources that could have led to a larger HVAC project when a trust was earned."

"Heard water running in water heater closet. Turned off heater. Called Airstream who had crew at my home in about an hour. They assessed situation and recommended a Rinnai waterless tank which I preferred. Crew returned with all equipment and completed the job within four hours. I highly recommend Airstream professionals for this type of work. The cost seems expensive; but when you see all the expertise needed for this installation (electrical, plumbing, gas line work, etc.), it's very important to have knowledgeable, skilled installers. When Airstream crew left, everything was clean and neat. I hope to live in this home for at least ten years, and not worrying about a water tank leaking and damaging the home brings peace of mind. And this water heater should last much longer than a regular water heater."

"Sincerely trustworthy and honest service. We were treated fairly and given the best service we could ask for. Originally, we'd gone with another company that was trying to take every cent from us and said replacement would be $40k, but ServiceKing came in for a second opinion, and the repairs were very affordable ~$500. Instead of replacing an entire system, we replaced a broken part and our AC was up and running quickly."

"They were late on a bad weather day and did not call and let us know. I asked that they call ahead to get directions, they did not and were lost on a private ranch road that I needed to be working on if I had known that they would be here at 3:30pm not noon. Once here they knew what they were doing and exceeded expectations."

Heating and Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

The decision to put your AC unit on the roof or ground depends on the climate in your area, the roof shape, accessibility, and budget. If you live in a warm climate or don’t have existing ductwork, it’s likely best to stick to a traditional AC unit that sits on the ground. However, if you lack yard space, live in a mild climate, and have easy access to the roof, your home may benefit from a rooftop AC unit.

It’s never a good idea to run your AC without a filter, even just for a night. The filter defends your HVAC system from the dust, dirt, debris, and other grime in your home. Without a filter, those contaminants are more likely to get inside your system and potentially damage it.

If you don't clean your AC evaporator coils, dirt and debris will build up, which impairs the system's ability to transfer heat. This forces the unit to work harder, leading to inefficient performance, higher energy bills, and frequent breakdowns. Over time, neglected coils can corrode, which may cause refrigerant leaks, or develop mold, ice buildup, and a clogged condensate drain, resulting in poor air quality and an uncomfortable home.

The best time of year to purchase or replace an HVAC system, including components like an air conditioner or furnace, is during the off-season—spring and fall. During these periods, HVAC professionals are less busy than in summer and winter, when extreme temperatures create urgent demand. Shopping during the off-season can lead to savings of 10% to 15% on an AC unit and allows you more time to find the best deal and other cost-saving incentives. Typically, air conditioning units go on sale in the fall after demand drops, while furnace prices tend to decrease in the spring.

Winterizing can still help you save money on energy costs and help prepare your AC for its work next year when you turn it back on. We suggest planning for at least some maintenance, even if winters are mild in your area.
