(The other two contractors I talked to about this were unsure and non-committal, which was not helpful). Ben also educated me about Schluters, which he recommended for the steps. Ben's estimate was pretty close to my other Angi-recommended installer and 25% less than the tile vendor's choice, which made it an easy decision to go with him. "The tile we had installed was done poorly. The boxes said it was not directional tile, but ANYBODY could see that it was after laying it. Especially a so-called professional. So, the "pattern" is all messed up. The carpet was ok, but the installers stayed WAY TOO LATE. They didn't finish until after 9 p.m. They should have come back to finish the next day."
