"This is 100% our recommendation without them asking or paying for it. Tim, Crystal and their team did a FANTASTIC job on a very tough privacy fence project with a very particular customer (me). This was a 20' long fence that had a lot of horizontal lines, modern sizing and gape, and plenty of things that could have gone wrong. I found them to be very professional, reliable, accountable and really, really, really accurate. I interviewed a lot of people for our project and they were the most consistent. I showed up unannounced to one of their jobs, measured, checked posts for level, and talked with the homeowner/customer directly. Their experience was my experience, which is to give them a shot. They delivered this job start to finish in 3 days on-site. Couldn't believe it. They did a bunch of pre-work at their house over the weekend to ensure our downtime was limited. They can provide you access to see our project, which is absolutely beautiful. If I can figur eout how to upload pictures, I'll do it. Also- Tim has a background in garage doors and knows what is he doing there as well. Do it. We are very pleased with the outcome."

"Cesar and his guys were punctual and professional. They did a great job working with us on the design and build of our patio cover project which turned out exactly how we expected. We have already CMR to friends and neighbors and would use him again. CMR's price was extremely reasonable and much cheaper than other quotes we got. His cheaper price did not reflect with lesser quality craftsmanship. We are very pleased with his work and have received many compliments from our friends and neighbors."

Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Building a barndominium means converting a barn into a house. Barndominiums are becoming popular as spacious and stylish alternatives to typical housing structures. Old barns that become houses traditionally consist of wooden construction. However, newer structures, such as pole barns, often contain metal exteriors and roofs. Converting a metal outbuilding into a house presents an excellent opportunity to create a barndominium from metal.

You should avoid drilling or cutting into load-bearing beams because removing material will weaken it and increase the risk of structural damage or even collapse. If you do need to drill into a load-bearing beam, speak with a structural engineer first to discuss where it’s safest to drill and the width and depth of the bit that’s safe to use.

Duration varies by project size, but average-sized homes typically take a weeks.

An A-frame home can be cheaper to build than a traditional house, but that is not always a given. Prices can be fairly similar in some cases, depending on the location, design, and necessary site preparation. Costs for an A-frame typically run between $100 to $200 per square foot, which is comparable to the cost of a traditional home. The cost of an A-frame can come in under those numbers if you opt for a prefabricated kit.

The best way to calculate framing costs is by basing your costs on the square footage of your home. On average, framing your home could cost anywhere between $7 and $16 per square foot.

To ensure you don’t go over budget, base your estimates on the higher end of the price range. If you know you’re going to use high-end materials or require a custom or complex build, you might even want to tack on an additional 5% of your budget.
