"Honestly, this was one of the best experiences we have had with hiring someone to do work on our home. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and professional. They were always willing to answer our questions and went the extra mile to make us happy. They put a lot of quality work in quickly. We can’t recommend them enough. The fence looks amazing."

"John was amazing! He came right away and gave me an estimate which was spot on. He was able to complete the job right away, which was critical because my Houdini dog was able to escape my old fence. John made sure there were no spaces where the fence joined other fences that would allow my dog to wiggle out. He was prompt, honest, and cleaned up totally afterward. He even remounted a light that had to be removed from my old fence. I recommend John- highly! I would definitely call him again for future fence needs."

"It was an absolute pleasure working with Dan and his crew. I called on a Thursday and he was onsite the next Tuesday replacing my fence. Dan and his crew did a great job, first rate quality construction at a great price. They were very prompt, courteous, cooperative and hard working, finishing over 170 linear feet of fencing with steel posts and a gate in just a little over 2 days. I could not ask for anything more in a contractor. The fence looks super and adds so much to my yard. My neighbor was so pleased with the work that Dan did on my fence that he is hiring him to do his fence as well. Get Dan while you can. Quality contractors like this are rare. Whenever I have a fencing need in the future, Dan will be the first one I will call and the only one I will recommend to others. Great job Dan, Thanks

"Two men from D & D Fencing showed up on time and ready to replace 4 fence posts. They went straight to work and replaced them in a few hours. They removed all broken posts and concrete, and I sent them on their way with a check in hand. Great Job."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

The best fence option for you depends on your property, budget, and style preferences, but a corrugated metal fence could be a good option if you want something durable yet low-maintenance. Unlike wood, corrugated metal won’t fall prey to rot or pest damage, and the metal can be recycled after its life as a fence comes to an end.

While it’s possible to remove a fence post with a truck and requires little physical effort, we don’t recommend this method. You can potentially hurt others or yourself or damage your property or vehicle attempting to take a fence post out with a truck. Instead, use a farm jack or a pole puller to remove the post.

While there’s no hard evidence to support this idea, driveway gates at least provide an additional obstacle that may deter crime. After all, a would-be burglar or trespasser would have to break into the gate and the property itself. The extra work could encourage them to move onto a house without a driveway gate.

Yes, you can use a floor jack to remove fence posts. Attach a stem to the base of the fence post so you can position the floor jack underneath. The stem can be a scrap piece of wood attached with nails or a sturdy nail itself. Put the jack beneath the stem and push the lever to lift up on the fence post and remove it from the ground.

Posts for a horizontal fence should be no more than 6 feet apart. Wood pickets are not as strong when mounted horizontally as when mounted vertically. As such, the fence panels on a horizontal fence can’t cover the same span between posts as a vertical fence can. If you install the posts further apart on a horizontal fence, the fence will lose stability, making the boards more likely to sag.
