"Jonathan did a wonderful job inspecting, cleaning and repairing our gutters and downspouts which were clogged in places. He texted us pictures while he worked, which we appreciated very much. He did an excellent job and we will have him back once or twice a year from now on. I highly recommend his services."

"If you need gutters, hands down this is the BEST company in the metro area. It is a family business and their integrity is awesome. Mathias installed our new gutters for us and we got a heavy snowstorm a few weeks later and the snow slid off our solar panels and tipped the gutters upside down. He came out and repaired it and would not take any $ for it ,even though it was not his fault, it was the fault of the solar panels. I even called his wife and asked her if we couldn't pay them something. She told me no, that they take pride in their work and good care of their customers and treat them the way they would like to be treated. I cannot recommend them enough!!"

Gutter Repair and Replacement questions, answered by experts

Properly installed gutters should be able to function normally in heavy rains. Allowing water to overflow can cause water damage around your home's basement or foundation. If the overflow is caused by a simple clog, paying a gutter cleaning cost of $125 to $250 may be enough to get the gutters running clear again. If there's a larger issue, you may need to repair or replace your gutters.

There are a handful of things you can look for to determine if you need to pay for gutter repairs, including the following:

  • Water leaking from the underside of your gutters during rainfall

  • Visible gaps between your gutters and your roof

  • Frequent issues with gutters overflowing or holding standing water

  • Gutters that sag or pull away from the house

  • Water damage to soffits, fascia boards, or other building materials

  • Mold growth on your exterior walls

  • Soil erosion underneath your roof overhang

  • Foundation leaks or inward bowing of foundation walls

If you’re replacing your roof, you don’t need to worry about replacing your gutters as long as they’re functional and in good condition. Some roofers may recommend temporarily removing gutters to prevent them from damage during a roof replacement, but the right professional can reduce this risk. Replacing your gutters would only be necessary if your gutters are in bad shape and already need replacing.

If you don't repair your home’s gutter leaks, water or the gutters themselves can damage your home’s siding, roofing, foundation, and landscaping. Untreated leaks encourage mildew, mold, and rot, depending on the type of siding material. The foundation, chimney, window frames, and drywall can also crack over time, leading to costly repairs.

Water should not be dripping behind your gutters. Rain dripping between your gutters and the fascia might indicate that the gutters are misaligned with the fascia board or there are loose screws in the gutters, allowing water to pass through. Start by checking for these issues and make repairs ASAP.
