"Per my contract with Redrocks Roof and Solar, I am to notify them if I suspect my solar system is not producing per their design, and to begin an "underproduction claim". If underproducing, they will compensate for lost production. My system operational as of May 5, 2025, I contacted them in August 2025 informing them of above stated concern. Called 3 times without a response until finally tech came out with last second notice on 9/2/2025. Fortunately I was home, helped him find 9 out of 14 panels that were never wired in. Photos were taken/sent to Redrocks. Additionally, it was discovered a setting on the system phone app given to me to monitor system was not enabled, which they were supposed to explain in detail to me and never did. So for 4 months my system was only producing 33%, Brooke (owner) acknowledged in a live phone call on the spot. I never received parts warranty details per the contract, no response after emails and phone messages about all this. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!"

A different provider had quoted me an $800-1000 project and said I needed Cat 6 cabling for ethernet, when really my existing Cat 5E was fine. Homeowners should avoid replacing a circuit breaker without turning it off. While you technically can replace a circuit breaker without turning off the main breaker—and professionals can and do—it’s only safe for electricians to use this process. Your breaker box houses the breakers that control the circuits in your home, shutting them off if they overload or experience similar problems. Your meter box houses your electrical meter that monitors the electricity flowing into your house and measures its use for your utility company.

In some cases, both components are in the same box, but they don’t have to be together. Many homes have them split, with the breaker box inside for easier access and the electric meter outside.

For a 200-amp underground service, you need a minimum of #2/0 American Wire Gauge (AWG) copper or #4/0 AWG aluminum or copper-clad wire. Don’t forget that, at minimum, you’ll need to use a 1 1/2-inch schedule 40 or 80 PVC conduit to successfully run a 200-amp underground service.

Your outlet should be a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). These outlets will cut power off in the case of an electrical fire, keeping your home and family safe. Extension cords can also be GFCIs. A local electrician can replace older outlets with GFCIs, if necessary.

Unless you’re a licensed electrician with extensive experience in upgrading electric panels, you must hire a professional for any electrical work. A licensed electrician will make sure your breaker is upgraded safely and in compliance with local codes. Your pro will also take care of any permits and inspections that are needed.
