We are a few best friends who have spent our careers in the home service industry painting houses, installing windows, and installing solar. We love business, we love people, and we are committed to creating an inspiring company that does business in a new way. In short, we believe solar is a great thing for the planet and it’s the future. We’re committed to contributing to that future. We have also seen the problems with the solar industry the way it exists today. A great thing (solar) has turned into a money grab for so many companies leading to shady marketing and sales tactics, unimpressive customer experience, a lot of companies going out of business… We don’t think anyone is doing it “the right way” and that’s what we are committed to doing. Going solar is not about saving a few bucks a month on your electric bill. It’s bigger than that. Plus, there are a ton of incentives most companies don't offer their customers that make solar a fraction of what you'll pay to your utility.

"Shane and his team helped us understand the steps as we upgraded to solar. Since then our monthly bill has lowered by $200/month on average including what we pay for the loan!"

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

In most cases, solar panels are covered by homeowners insurance. However, you’ll need to read the fine print of your particular home insurance policy to ensure you’ll receive coverage for various incidents that could take place. For example, some policies only cover hail damage. Check with your provider to make sure your policy has adequate coverage.

DIY solar panel installations are hard to manage by yourself. You’ll likely need some help or prior experience to make the project worth the effort.

The average homeowner needs around 22 solar panels, but the exact number depends on your monthly energy consumption. Your solar professional should size your array to offset your consumption, meaning you’ll need fewer panels if you use below-average amounts of electricity, or more than 22 if you use above-average amounts of electricity. The number of panels also depends on the output of each panel. The average is around 400 watts, but you might need more panels if you install less capable equipment. Since there are so many variables, you should have a professional size your system.

Installing solar panels is worth it if you’re frustrated with paying high utility bills, live in a sunny location, and qualify for tax credits and incentives. Most homeowners cut between $650 and $1,500 from their utility bills each year by installing solar panels. Over the course of your panel’s warranty, you could save anywhere from $16,300 to $37,500, though those in sunny areas with high energy costs could save more than $100,000.

Solar batteries can be a great investment to help maximize your solar savings and make your system and home more valuable, but they’re most beneficial to customers who don’t have access to net metering. If your state or energy provider doesn’t provide net metering, batteries can be a great way to offset consumption even when your panels aren’t producing power. They also come with the added benefit of providing electricity through blackouts, so they’re valuable in areas prone to severe weather that could cause frequent blackouts. Your installer can help you decide if batteries are worthwhile.
