"A year ago, we had Jade (Jodi & Wade) Floors replace the carpet and vinyl with Ginger Oak wood plank flooring for our entire first floor (living, dining, kitchen, family, powder room), stairs to our second floor, our second floor hallway, and our second floor hall bathroom. We left the existing carpeting in our second floor bedrooms, with the intent to have Jade come back and replace that sometime in the future with new carpeting. However, we fell in love with the look and easy care of the Ginger Oak and decided to complete our entire second floor with wood plank flooring, including our master bath. As before, Armando and his installers did an amazing job of installation with attention to detail and responding to our questions and resolving any concerns we expressed. We couldn't be more thrilled and pleased with the price, the workmanship, our interaction, and our outcome with Jade. They set the GOLD standard for small business expertise, attentiveness, and excellence."

"We had a shower floor that needed to be re-grouted with an outdated green grout color. They tried to find the color and finally had to mix it themselves. They did an awesome job and it turned out great. They are friendly, professional, fair and honest. Would certainly recommend them!! So happy we went with this Angi professional."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Berber is a loop pile carpet known for its strength, durability, and distinct looped look. It can be made from a number of different carpet materials, including nylon and wool. However, Berber isn’t as soft as cut pile carpet, so it isn’t the best carpet for a bedroom (although it’s a good style of carpet for living rooms).

With that said, if you really like the look of Berber, you can still install it in your bedroom—it just might not be as comfortable on your feet as cut pile carpeting.

Outdoor kitchens get wet and are sometimes next to pools. To avoid accidents, go with a non-slip material like concrete, brick, or rubber. Avoid materials like ceramic and porcelain, as they are known to be quite slippery. Wood and composite flooring can be slippery if untreated, so make sure to stain or finish these materials.

The toilet flange anchors to the subfloor, usually with wood screws or cement screws, but most of it should sit above floor level at full height. When a flange is flush with the subfloor or below it, it can lead to the creation of leak paths.

In most cases, you do not need to put padding or underlayment under carpet tiles. Unlike traditional carpet, which requires a separate pad, carpet tiles are designed to be installed directly onto a firm subfloor like plywood, concrete, or tile. Many carpet tiles come with a built-in underlay and attach with peel-and-stick adhesive, double-sided carpet tape, or glue. For a more comfortable, cushioned feel, especially in residential settings, you can opt for padded carpet tiles that have a thicker underlay attached. While it's generally not recommended to install a separate pad, a compact underlayment might be used in some situations, though this typically requires professional installation. An acoustic underlay may also be considered in commercial spaces or multi-level homes where noise reduction is a priority.

Yes, marble floors do increase home values. In fact, if you install marble flooring in your home, you can expect to double your investment. Homebuyers love marble, like other types of stone flooring, because it’s timeless, beautiful, wears well, and is considered a luxury product. Marble is expensive to install, but if your house and location attract buyers looking for luxurious, upscale vibes, adding marble flooring can only raise your property value and give you a great return on your investment.
