"M-Cor Painting did an outstanding job replacing our 20 year old outside rear deck. The team was quick, thorough and were very responsive to changes needed to make the deck whole and safe. M-Cor Painting cleaned up the work area and left us with near new 10 by 10 and 20 by 20 rear decks. The pricing on the wood needed to be replaced was competitive and thus made the total cost much lower than we projected. M-Cor also did two other cosmetic touch up jobs to our house at little or no cost. Bottom line: My wife and I cannot recommend M-Cor Painting for wood work, painting and staining."

"Steve and his crew are the best. They are always professional and do an outstanding job with an emphasis on perfection. We were so impressed with their work on our 12 foot walls and ceiling that we hired them to paint the stair case railing, the kitchen cabinets, and currently they are painting the outside of the house. Canâ t go wrong with this crew. Thanks Native Painting!"

"I had five different companies come out and give quotes for my project and ultimately I hired Painting Bros and I cannot say enough positive things. Not only were they the most competitively priced quote but from the start working with Steve for the initial quote, he was not pushy at all but very friendly, personable and knowledgeable about the process and even offered a few different options for my overall project. The paint crew was top notch, they were very prompt, clean, courteous and respectful of my space and home. Painting Bros will be my go to recommendation for all my friends and family."

"We needed a couple small jobs for painting and Tony was able to help us. He painted a hallway that had some serious chipping paint and painted our kitchen ceiling and walls. His quality of work was outstanding and price was just right. I would highly recommend Tony."

Painting questions, answered by experts

You can only change your neighbor's fence with their permission. A neighbor's fence is their property, and altering it without their consent could constitute trespassing or property damage, which may have legal consequences. If you have concerns or disagreements about your neighbor's fence, communicate with them openly and try to reach a mutually agreeable solution. If you believe the fence violates local zoning laws or property regulations, consult with local authorities or seek legal advice to address the issue through proper channels.

Moisture and rot are the largest threat to wooden fences. Stain can help your wood fence last 15 to 20 years, but only if you choose a stain with waterproofing qualities or add a sealant. Oil-based stains create a thicker moisture barrier than water-based stains, though both are mold and mildew resistant. You’ll generally need to re-stain your fence every one to eight years to get full protection.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

The number of coats you need to apply when whitewashing a surface depends on how opaque you want the final product to be. If you're going for a transparent, barely there look, a single coat or two may suffice. For fuller coverage, you'll want to use multiple coats. Another option is to use a less diluted paint to get a thicker coverage.

Both a roller and a brush are effective methods for painting a chain link fence. A roller will make the job easier by ensuring symmetrical strokes and reaching the backside of the fence as well, which cuts down on paint time. However, a brush is often necessary for painting the base of the fence and near the posts due to its ease of reaching smaller spaces.
