"We hired the folks at CCC Drywall Company based solely on reviews from Agni?s and could not be more satisfied, and we are completely pleased with the results. We had two large holes left from the removal of medicine cabinets and multiple small holes that needed to be patched, then several plaster walls that needed correction due to previous damage. The repairs were very professionally completed and the walls very skillfully and beautifully skimmed and hand troweled. Their efforts added beauty to our already lovely home, and are very grateful for their efforts and kindness towards us. We would highly recommend CCC Drywall to anyone needing drywall repair or correction!"

"If there was a mark higher than an A I would gladly give it. These guys are amazing! We considered the options and decided to drywall to the peak of the garage rather than drop the ceiling so we could put storage in the rafters. The beams, joists and other framing are exposed in the top of the garage, which required drywalling around them, supplementing the framing in some places and rebuilding some existing drywall in place against the house. Normally they don't insulate but they agreed to and did an outstanding job, even adding more insulation in a small crawl space upon request. They fit the drywall tightly around all of the beams and joists at the ceiling, left square and crisp hatch openings into a crawl space and vent opening and taped and mudded making it easy to paint the space ourselves. To top it all off, their estimate was more than 30% lower than the other bids we received for the same work. While they were here I had them repair a hole inside made by the electricians in error and a place where someone had damaged an interior wall. They patched, mudded and textured the holes in about an hour and their texture job on the ceiling and wall are PERFECT matches. This is one of the most professional companies I have ever worked with. I knew we made the right choice when Steve, who did the estimate, showed up on the job the first day and introduced me to each member of the crew. I'd hire this company again anytime."

Small jobs welcome

"I had a fantastic experience with this company. The owners provided excellent customer service in a timely way during the drywall installation for the renovation of my home. They did a great job scraping the ceiling of popcorn and fixing places in the drywall throughout my house. They also installed drywall in my entire garage. It looks great! I would highly recommend this company!"

"First - a little history... Our house had the unfortunate problem of FLOODING in our FINISHED basement (drywalled TV room, bedroom, etc) when we had a long rain. Therefore, we hired a company (Groundworks) to come in and install French drains into the concrete basement floors, install vapor shields along ALL along the PERIMETER of the house in the basement. This required Jack hammering the concrete floor, installing the drainage, fancy sump pump, and also tearing down ALL of the finished drywall and the drywall framing. They got the work done. They did a good job. But, then, the work that we needed to get done was to have our basement FULLY RESTORED. We solicited Home Advisor's services to get 3+ bids. One of which was Unique Paint & Drywall. I'll call it "UPW" from here on. UPWs bid came in competitively LOWER than almost all the others, there was 1 other bid that was also competitive, but what we liked about UPW was their courtesy, professionalism, and the Owner REALLY appeared to "KNOW HIS STUFF"! The Owner (Tony) is a real stand-up guy! He took the time to listen to what we desired we wanted done to our basement, and then went on to execute doing/completing the job EXACTLY to our satisfaction! The TASKs that we needed UPW to do was to as follows: 1: Install ALL NEW FRAMING for the torn down drywall (they needed to use LIQUID NAILS to ATTACH the framing to the "re-concreted" floors along the PERIMETER of the basement). 2: Install all NEW ELECTRICAL WIRING all along the framing. These guys even REMOVED the OLD wiring, and installed ALL NEW wiring, outlets, switches, etc.). 3: Install NEW drywall. 4: Have the NEW drywall BLEND IN with the CURRENT drywall of the inner rooms and basement ceiling. 5: RESTORE our basement's drywalls to their ORIGINAL TEXTURE to MATCH the walls in the INNER rooms that were NOT torn down. 6: As an "extra", Tony even INSTALLED NEW DRYWALL in a couple of rooms that didn't have it (washroom, storage room), AND installed a little DRYWALLED PRAYER ROOM for the WIFE (we're Christians) that has an ARCHED entryway. Sorry for the long description, but I just felt that I should really elaborate on the work that this company did so that whoever reads this really has a good idea on what to expect when calling on this contractor. My suggestion: HIRE THEM!"

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Water-damaged drywall should almost always be replaced. Not only does it look bad, it’s a breeding ground for toxic mold. Even if you think the area is dry and there’s no active leak, the only way to be sure is to cut out the damaged area and see for yourself.

You should start looking for a drywall installer by choosing a local company with positive online reviews and ratings with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Next, confirm that the professional is properly licensed using Angi’s contractor licensing tool, and ask the installer if they are fully insured. It’s a good idea to ask for recent customer references and call them to get their honest opinion about the contractor and their work. You can also ask the installer if they guarantee their work or provide a workmanship warranty.

According to the EPA, mold grows within 24 to 48 hours if left untreated after a water leak. So unless you notice the leak and stop it right away, you only have a day or so before mold is a real concern. If you don’t notice the leak, it can take about three weeks for the mold spores to become visible. That means you’ve likely had an active mold infection for a few weeks by the time you notice discoloration.

Whether you can reuse a drywall anchor depends on its type, material, and how it is removed. Plastic anchors, such as expansion or self-drilling types, are generally considered single-use because they are designed to expand and are likely to break or become deformed upon removal. Metal anchors, like toggle bolts, are more durable and can often be reused if they are not damaged during extraction. However, with toggle bolts, the toggle mechanism can fall inside the wall when the bolt is removed, making it difficult to retrieve. If an anchor is damaged or must be cut for removal, it cannot be reused regardless of its material.

Yes, it is possible to rewire a house without removing the drywall, but this doesn’t work in all homes. You can pull out old wires and insert new ones if you have access to the wiring system via the ceiling or through a crawl space. Some pros can also use a magnetic kit to fish the old wire out of the wall through a hole cavity and install the new wires. Just keep in mind that doing this is less stable than removing drywall, as you won’t be able to staple the wires into the framing.
