"My washer was leaking, and my dryer took 2 cycles to dry. The ProServ expert was great. Took his time to evaluate the issue, and gave me multiple options. I felt that not only did he know his stuff, but that he was honest, and trying to do the best for me. Great job!"

"From beginning to end the process was so easy. I called after-hours; spoke to the actual technician who came out. He was able to get us on an emergency install for the next day(Sunday) and my family and I were in a warm house before bed time. Highly recommend Rocky Mountain Services!"

"We were in town for a few days trying to get some things taken care of with our Colorado home prior to our move from North Carolina. We received excellent customer care from Les at DMC Services. He was punctual for the appointments. He clearly explained the work needed and the cost. The work performed was quality and the cost was fair for the time spent and products installed. We could not have been more pleased with the attention to detail and customer care. We will use DMC Services for our future HVAC needs and highly recommend the company."

"

Saw a special offer on Angie’s List for a garbage disposal swap-out at a reasonable price ($99).  I had a 12-year-old disposal that was leaking, so knew it had to be replaced, and had already purchased a new, quieter one.  All’s I needed was a technician that could do the install. He arrived as scheduled and got the new unit installed with only a minor pipe modification. New disposal works great!

The offer required a pre-pay, which I was somewhat hesitant to do but trusted that Angie’s List wouldn’t have included this offer if it weren’t legit.  The work was done at the quoted price; no additional charges. BTW  I found the ‘preferred timeframe’ at signup wasn’t very helpful because it all depended on the times/days the tech had available. Fortunately, the email Angie’s List sent me had the technician’s name and number, so a simple call to him was all that was needed to set up the service call.

"They responded to my call much faster than I had thought possible. They came in and were very organized and efficient. They were done with the cleanup much earlier than I anticipated, and I spent the night in my house."

"I had a wonderful experience. The owner personally did the job at my home since his other technicians were out in the field. I needed a garbage disposal replaced. He got me in right away. Stinks having to use one side of the kitchen sink. I’m really big on Customer Service, and the owner’s customer service was exceptional. I referred him out to my manager at work who just purchased a home. Highly recommend. Even though the job seemed small and quick, the customer service and availability is what was vital to me. Thanks 5280"

"We had just bought our new home and during the second week living here, we were having our entire yard re-landscaped including a new sprinkler system.  While the landscapers were working, they went to the basement and turned on the water and proceeded outside to work on the sprinkler system.  When I came home later that night, I went down to the basement to do some laundry and half of our basement was flooded.  The walls were buckling from the water in the walls and the new carpet was saturated with water.  (I'd estimate about 500 sq ft).  The inspector did not turn on the water in the basement apparantly, so he failed to notice a bust in the pipe from a previous freeze.

I quickly got onto Angie's List and checked all past reviews of restoration companies, and was pleased to see the positve reports for Above All Cleaning & Restoration.  I called right away and Marc answered (not a machine, what a concept).  He was to my house within 2 hours.  He assessed the situation and was able to give us a fair quote and start the job immediately so there was no further damage.

His crew removed the carpet and the saturated pad underneath.  They opened up all of the walls and put huge dryers in the walls and on the floors for a good week, coming back from time to time to check on the progress and move the dryers.  He ordered an equivalent pad when everything was dry, put in the pad, restretched our carpet and then steam cleaned the entire area.  He even went above and beyond and steam cleaned my carpets upstairs as an added bonus!

Marc was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and very likeable.  He did not try to upsell us on things we didn't need, and I feel for the amount of work and time the job took, the price was extremely reasonable.  I completely trusted him and his crew to be in our home when we were not here.

I would NOT hesitate to recommend or use him in the future.  Marc is a great guy and very honest.  Thanks so much for eliminating the stress from a stressful situation!"

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.

These appliances do unscrew, but you need to disconnect everything properly when you replace your garbage disposal. Make sure you shut the power off to the area first and check that it’s off with a voltage detector. Disconnect the main drain line and P-trap, and then disconnect the dishwasher drain line if you have one connected. You can then unscrew your garbage disposal using a disposal wrench. Just make sure you disconnect the electrical lines before removing your appliance.

As with many appliances, proper maintenance is key to maximizing your garbage disposal’s life span. If everyone in your household is on board with proper care and maintenance, like running water while operating the disposal, you should get plenty of years out of your unit. Avoid putting the wrong food items down the disposal, including pasta, rice, bread, and more.

The most common garbage disposal size in the U.S. is 1/2 horsepower. This size is ideal for households with three or fewer people or those that don't produce much food waste. Although 1/2 horsepower can't handle the typical food waste load for a household of four (which is about 250 pounds of food waste annually) as effectively as 3/4 horsepower, it remains the most common size of garbage disposal on the market.

If your garbage disposal powers up and you can hear it hum, but the arms inside aren’t moving, the problem might be a stubborn clog, a build-up of grease, or a jam of the impeller plate. To troubleshoot these, ensure your unit is off and disconnected from its power source before checking inside the drain or attempting to manually rotate the impeller arms or plate from the underside of the unit. A hex wrench can help.
