I specialize in remodeling; Demolition and removal of walls and flooring, to trim and paint. Everything between. I do some minor plumbing and electrical. Nothing that requires licensing, however. I've been in the construction industry for 13 years professionally. I've worked in steel framing, concrete, roofing, painting, wood framing, but I've been in remodels and carpentry for majority of my experience. I can do incredible things with wood and a saw.

The Gallery is Durango's local experts on wood, tile, and carpet flooring installation. With long time professionals to offer their experience and knowledge, The Gallery is a great stop for those who are still in the planning stage of installing a new floor.

"The Gallery was wonderful. They worked with us to select the right floors and colors. Their installer, a subcontractor, was terrific. Very communicative and the work was lovely. The floors were installed in August 2017 and look just as beautiful now as they did then."

Hardwood Flooring questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install hardwood flooring is $4,700. While this is more than double the average cost of installing a new carpet and removing your old one, it has some significant advantages. Hardwood flooring might not be as cozy or soundproofing as carpets, but it's lower maintenance and way more durable. With the right care, hardwood floors can last a lifetime, whereas the average lifespan of a carpet is 10 years.

New flooring costs quite a bit, so longevity is important to think about. Concrete generally has the longest life span, but it’s not always a good solution for homes with wooden subfloors. That said, hardwood floors and stone floors can last up to 100 years, and you can refinish or restore them to remove imperfections from daily wear.

Most projects take 1-3 days, depending on space size and complexity.

It’s a good idea to install a rug pad under the carpet for your stairs. To make the pad fit, you’ll need to cut one section for each stair tread that’s about one inch narrower than the stair runner so that it won’t be visible once the carpet is installed on top.

Using too much soap or floor cleaner can leave your laminate floors looking dirty or cloudy after mopping. Only use a teaspoon of soap or cleaning solution in a gallon of water. Additionally, always be sure to sweep or vacuum laminate floors before mopping to ensure you pick up dried grit, hair, and dust that can be harder to catch with a wet mop.
