Customers say: Quick response

"I called them on Friday anticipating that it would be at least a week or so until they would be able to come out. I was surprised when they said they could come the next morning. They had to replaced my central vacuum. They were quick, very courteous and helpful. I was surprised when I got the invoice that the service charge was so high(maybe because it was a weekend??) I, wish I would have known about the service fee when booking the appointment. It was offset by giving me a trade-in credit for my old vacuum unit. I was very pleased with this company and would use them again!"

"Alex was very knowledgeable and knew exactly want needs to be done. He was very prompt, Courteous and cost effective. My central vacuum (Beam) was NOT working for years due to clogs and Alex came and identified the problem in less than an hour by systematically isolating the problem and ordered parts that needed to be replaced. His fees was $129 + $ 7 for the belt that needed replacement. I would highly recommend Alex if you have any issues with your central vacuum system. Apparently he takes care of all the Brands out there."

"The Dryer Vent Tech was thorough and knowledgeable about our dryer venting system. While performing the inspection it was brought to our attention that items were not up to code, so alternative code-compliant materials were suggested. Upon completion of the inspection, the tech went over the other items that needed to be repaired or replaced and discussed the reasons for those repairs or replacements. We are very happy with the services provided, and we are referring this company to our friends and Family"

"It was a good experience. I paid the "Big Deal" amount but it wasn't enough to clean everything. They worked very hard and fast but it was before all of the leaves and the pine needles fell and I was going to call them again to come back on another basis but we've had snow off and on ever since then."

Central Vacuum Systems questions, answered by experts

While caulking is handy for quite a bit of jobs, it’s still limited. Any crack or gap larger than 1/4 inch is best left for a more intensive repair job. When you hire house painters, they should run a thorough check to see what they need to repair before they start the job.

Large repairs that caulking typically won’t do well with include cracks or holes larger than a 1/4 inch, rotted wood, or metal surfaces, such as garage doors.

It can be difficult to know right away if your central vacuum is clogged since it operates quietly compared to regular vacuums. However, there are a couple of signs you can look for. If you feel like it’s losing suction or isn’t cleaning effectively, then there’s likely a clog somewhere.

Make sure you turn the vacuum on and feel the end of the hose handle. If you don’t feel any suction, then you’re dealing with a clog in the hose. You can see if the clog is further down in the system by attaching the hose to each outlet until you find the one with the least amount of suction.

The best way to clean central vacuum pipes is to use a maintenance sheet to dislodge clogs and wipe the inside of the pipes clean. Alternatively, a professional can clean your central vacuum pipes for you.

Whether talking about a whole-house central vacuum or a portable vacuum cleaner, the expected cost of major repair work should always be balanced against its replacement cost. However, excluding high-cost motor replacements or major electrical trouble, repairs on a central vacuum system are typically far less than the cost of purchasing and installing a new one.

Maintaining your central vacuum cleaner is crucial to extending its lifespan. Ensuring the filter is cleaned or changed often is vital to ensuring clogs don’t impact your motor. In addition, inspecting motor brushes regularly and lubricating the engine when needed helps keep it in tip-top shape. Finally, cleaning the central vacuum hose of dirt and debris helps keep clogs at bay, especially if you’ve vacuumed something wet or sticky.
