"My roof was severely damaged in our recent hail storm. Trio came out and provided an estimate on a roof replacement for my insurance. They handled everything from estimating to working with my HOA and insurance company so I didn't have to deal with that headache. Everyone I have dealt with from Trio was friendly and they informed me of every step. I love how everything came out and I have them scheduled to come back out in July to build my dream deck so I can enjoy this summer outside. Definitely give these guys a call. I highly recommend them."

"I’ve used them more than once. They handled a flooded finished basement and did great work. The repairs and finished product were exactly what was expected and needed. They were super helpful in navigating issues with the insurance company as well, which took stress off of me and the family. I used them again when it was time to do an extensive kitchen remodel which included removing walls and changing the layout. It turned out great and I would not hesitate to use them again."

"Mike has done my entire unfinished basement and his work ethics and willingness to work with changing design needs is exceptional. Mike's patience and quality of work is exceptional. His only goal is to ensure that customer is happy and he doesn't hesitate to redo things if customer wanted differently. I was very happy with his work and did recommend to a friend who is doing his complete basement. he is very affordable versus some of the crazy quotes we got."

"I have hired Handy Home Services for multiple projects over the past few years. After working with many other contractors, Hakim has been the only consistent contractor I trust who is reliable, honest, and consistent on timelines. I have hired Hakim for my own personal home renovations and my rental units (kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedroom renovations). He is able to handle any size project I have sent to him and the high quality is always consistent. I would always recommend Handy Home Services!"

Barndominium Builders questions, answered by experts

Yes, barn doors can be too heavy, although the limitation is usually imposed by the mounting hardware you buy and not your home’s framing, unless you’re building an unusually wide door. To keep the weight down, you can opt for 1-by material rather than 2-by material, and choose a softwood like pine rather than a hardwood like maple or oak. Check the weight limits on your mounting hardware, and always attach your door track to studs rather than to drywall anchors.

Pole barns and carports are similar in that they rely on posts for support and are often not connected to a primary structure. The main difference between the two is that pole barns usually include walls that surround the entire perimeter of the structure, while carports generally remain open on three or four sides. It’s possible to insulate garage doors and even exterior walls on pole barns to create a comfortable workspace, and it’s a bit more secure for storage purposes. However, carports are more affordable.

The construction stage is almost always the longest part of building a house. Within this stage, framing often takes the most time, lasting anywhere from one week to a couple of months, depending on the home's size, the crew, and the time of year. Other parts of the construction phase include pouring the foundation and installing doors, windows, a roof, siding, drywall, and flooring. The planning and design phase can also be very time-consuming, sometimes taking months or even years, especially for a custom home. The final finishing process, which includes painting and installing trim, is typically shorter than the construction or planning stages.

Trex is not stronger than wood, but it lasts longer than wood and is heavier. Trex holds up well to the elements and is resistant to termites thanks to its resilient composition of plastic, reclaimed wood, and sawdust. Trex decking is rot and warp-resistant, making it especially useful in areas that experience a lot of snow and rain.

The most common slope, or roof pitch, for a shed is 4:12 or four inches of height for every horizontal foot. For areas that experience heavy snow loads, a steeper roof of 6:12 or 9:12 is best.
