"Bee N' Wasp removal came out the very same day that we called to remove some active wasp nests from our home and check for other activity. They answered our questions about bees and wasps and even told us what product to use if we see wasp activity in the future. We're very pleased with them.

"I'm very happy with them.  I have monthly service with them.  Their termite inspection was very good.  They explained to me everything and then they did the inspection.  I found a couple of termites that had wings and they verified that for me.  They did a very thorough job.  I've been with them since the owner started up his own company.  The owner came from another company.  He quit that company and opened his own business."

"We have had a monthly service with Leonardo's for about 10 years in our restaurant. We had been using another company for many years but the cockroaches were having races through the kitchen, so obviously it wasn't working. We contacted Leonardo through a referrral from another restaurant owner. Upon his recommendation, we closed down for 2 days and thoroughly cleaned our kitchen. Leonardo's staff came in and sprayed and we have not seen one bug since. The technicians are professional, timely and whatever they use, it works!! We have them on a monthly contract and it is the best money spent!"

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Paper wasps look similar to other wasps, like yellow jackets. They have narrow, but not thread-like, waists with black or brown bodies and yellow colorations. You can better identify paper wasps by their nests, which are made with regurgitated wood pulp. The nests look like they are made from paper and usually have visible hexagonal holes, like a honeybee hive.

They build their nests in places like eaves or branches, and their removal more often warrants the help of a wasp control specialist near you.

According to the National Pesticide Information Center, there aren’t any insect repellents registered for use against bed bugs that can be put on your skin. Some people may utilize diluted essential oils on their skin to try to repel bed bugs, but this is not considered effective for remedying the problem. The best way to repel bed bugs is to treat them with a non-toxic method to rid them from your home.

Termites, carpenter ants, and wood-boring beetles can move from wood furniture to other areas of your home. If you notice signs of bugs in wood furniture, it's best to remove and isolate it for treatment. Remember that it can be difficult to identify which type of pest you are dealing with, and they can already be in areas of your home.

If DIY methods don’t work or you don’t know which pest it is you should contact an exterminator if you are showing signs of wood-eating pests to prevent further damage.

Adult fleas can live from a few days to about two weeks without a host. If pets are not available, fleas may feed on rodents or people. While adult fleas need a blood source to survive, flea pupae can lie dormant for up to a year in optimal conditions. Therefore, cleaning and treating the infested area is essential to prevent pupae from surviving and hatching later.

The best way to get rid of fruit flies usually involves a cleaning and checking to make sure food sources are sealed away. However, if you have a major infestation, you can try making a fruit fly trap, or calling a bug control service near you, to address the problem.
