"Charles from Golden State answered my evening request for a fence repair job within minutes after I posted the job. He came out the next afternoon to see the situation and offer his solution. I liked his ideas and bid! Charles and his team came out as planned, replacing our wire and wood fence with metal poles set in concrete and new wire. They finished the project in 5 days despite a big rain storm. They cleaned the old wood and wire, leaving the pasture ready for our geese to move back to their home. We are very pleased with Golden State’s work!"

"We’re absolutely thrilled with the work Tom and his team did on our backyard in Oakland! They transformed the space by installing grass, a sprinkler system, a flagstone area, a pergola, and a fence, while also addressing drainage issues to ensure the yard stays in great shape for years to come. Tom was reliable, responsive, and a true professional. From our first consultation, he listened to our vision, offered thoughtful suggestions, and kept us informed every step of the way. His communication made the entire process seamless and stress-free. The crew was fantastic—punctual, respectful, and hardworking. They showed up on time every day, worked efficiently, and left the site spotless. Thanks to Tom and his team, our backyard is now a stunning, functional space that we love. We couldn’t recommend Tomservice more highly!"

Denis was professional, prompt, and very easy to work with, especially when it came to staying within our budget. The most common hog wire gauge for a fence is 12.5. However, you can choose from a few gauges based on your needs. While 12.5 is a reliable gauge for penning in large, strong animals, 9 gauge is a better option of you have large animals that are easily spooked, such as horses. For smaller animals, like dogs or pigs, you can use a 16 gauge hog wire.

There are a variety of second-story deck privacy ideas depending on your budget and aesthetic. For starters, you might consider fencing or tall privacy railing that masks a good portion of the open deck. A pergola or an awning can provide additional cover and shade. Outdoor curtains are an easy way to add or remove privacy at your convenience, plus they’re a wallet-friendly way to decorate your deck.

Electric fences use very little energy and shouldn’t cause any surprises on your next energy bill; You may only notice an extra couple of dollars on the bill. While electric fences don’t consume much energy, they still need it. If you have a power outage after a storm, your electric fence will likely stop working.

Yes, installing a picket fence is a manageable DIY project for homeowners with basic tools and some patience. The process involves marking the fence line, digging post holes, setting the posts, and attaching horizontal rails and pickets. However, precision is key to ensure the fence is straight and sturdy, which can be challenging for beginners. If the fence line is long, the ground is uneven, or you’re working with more complex materials like metal or composite, hiring a pro may be a better option.

The cost to pressure wash a house ranges from $200 to $400 and unfortunately does not include fencing. That service will be an additional charge of between $150 and $350, depending on the size of your fence and the type of material it’s made of.
