"I can't say enough good things about JC Concrete, they did a fabulous job on our sidewalk replacement job. Demolition and cleanup both done expertly and in one day. Site prep and permit inspection done the next day. Poured and finished on day three. Everything was top quality. I would definitely use JC Concrete again."

"A fantastic experience from start to finish, BGL transformed our vague intentions into concrete form. We needed a soil and grass lawn converted to a rock garden with undemanding but beautiful flora. An adjacent ramp and slab needed to be replaced to correct their inclines. BGL rapidly produced a striking design and then enacted it rapidly and thoroughly. In addition to the concrete work, stone walkways were placed and a drip irrigation system was installed and integrated."

"Raz and his crew at Brother and Brother exceeded our expectations. They got the job done within the stated timeline which was key. The price was the best quoted and the quality of the finished product is excellent! It was easy to communicate via text or call, what we wanted and expected. If we had any questions on materials or any changes to be made, they were quick to respond at any time, day or night. The whole crew was polite and easy to work with. Being that the job was the kids' bathroom remodel, they kept the worksite clean everyday after they were done. They adjusted the mirror to accommodate the faucet and gave suggestions to the paint and glass tile niche when we were unsure. Again, their timeliness was spot on; they started the job right away and finished on time. They had permits and inspections planned to very well, and we were notified well in advance when to expect any visits. So happy with the overall quality of the work, ease of communication, and fair price of the whole remodel. Would do it all again in a heartbeat! Thank you, Raz, for the best experience possible. Hope to work with you again in the future!!!"

"Work was completed to our general satisfaction. Payment is the issue now. Contractor was eager to start the work within a couple of days so getting a deposit check to him ahead of time so he could order the asphalt thru a supplier was impossible. So we agreed to pay the supplier directly by giving them our credit card number, and did authorize and receive a receipt for the first order of asphalt, which payment we were told on the phone by the supplier would be enough to pay for the whole job and we may get a refund for the balance later, which we also did. Work was then completed and the contractor gave us a final request for payment, which we paid. However, we learned a month later on our bank statement a second charge by the asphalt supplier for material to the contractor (neither our name nor address was on their bill of sale so we don't even know if the second charge was for our project) was made without our knowledge or authorization. This constitutes fraud as well. So when we added up all of our payments to both the supplier and the contractor it exceeded our contract amount by $626.35. When I alerted both the supplier and the contractor about this asking for the refund there was no commitment to do so nor any dispute with our request. This was over two weeks ago, and the contractor has not responded or refunded us the overpayment. We've left multiple phone and email messages."

Concrete Leveling questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can mudjack cracked concrete, but the cracks will need to be repaired once the concrete has been leveled. If the concrete is severely cracked in multiple places, replacement may be a better option, but for less severe cracking, mudjacking is a good solution as long as cracks are correctly caulked and sealed.

The average cost for mudjacking is around $1,200, though prices can range from $300 to $3,400. On a per-square-foot basis, you can expect to pay between $3 and $8, with an average of about $5 per square foot. The final cost depends on several factors, including the square footage of the concrete, the type of slab, its accessibility, whether it is load-bearing, and the type of material used to lift it. Generally, lifting a driveway, small patio, or sidewalk is less expensive than lifting a slab foundation or garage floor.

Common issues with concrete that may require professional repair or resurfacing include cracks, spalling, uneven surfaces, and weather damage.

There is no real alternative to underpinning, although mudjacking and polyjacking are other repair methods that can add support from underneath your foundation. Rather than placing supportive piers under your structure, these involve pumping a material under your slab to lift a sunken section back into its original position. Polyjacking, in particular, is sometimes a suitable solution for stabilization issues under slab foundations, but underpinning is often accepted as the best and most permanent solution.

Pros often use mudjacking or polyurethane foam injection to level a sunken concrete patio. Both methods lift the slab by filling voids beneath it. After properly compacting the soil beneath it to prevent future settling, the concrete may need to be removed and re-poured for severe sinking.
