"They were absolutely wonderful. I called a couple of other roofing companies, one of them was the top one on the list, they wouldn't even return my call. It was really rainy so everybody was really busy so I couldn't even get a response from two of them and Econo  came right out and took care of everything and then when they were scheduled to do the roofing my husband to the hospital and I called them and said I can't even be there and they said "Don't worry about it we took care of everything." They didn't even ask for payment until a couple weeks later because I was tied up at the hospital. I just love them. I kept saying I got to get on that site and write something and I am going to. They were really good. They did a great job and they were very reasonable. Econo charged about $6000 and when I spoke to my neighbors who had approximately the same thing done they paid around 8 to $10,000."

"Very prompt response to my inquiry to get my roof gutter cleaned. Rafael arrived on time, did a great job - everything back in order when the job was finished. Rafael is very pleasant and professional; he showed me pictures of the gutters before & after. Price was very reasonable. I am having additional work done."

Roofing questions, answered by experts

The best way to know if your roof can support solar panels is to hire a structural engineer. They’ll look at your roof and approve the design of your solar panel system or suggest changes. The best roofing for solar panels is made from strong materials like asphalt shingles and metal, but tile and gravel will work. Softer materials like thatch or temporary structures are not a good fit.

Sometimes chimney caps blow off during storms or fall off after rusting away. While this typically won’t cause structural damage, failing to replace a chimney cap can. A chimney cap prevents moisture, animals, and debris from entering your chimney, all of which can cause serious problems, such as damage to the masonry or blockages in the flue.

Yes, shingles should overhang the drip edge, typically between 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch. An overhang shorter than 1/2-inch can allow wind-driven rain to get under the shingles and damage the roof deck or fascia. Conversely, an overhang longer than 3/4-inch increases the risk of shingles getting caught by strong winds, which can lead to roof uplift. Always check your local building code for exact overhang requirements in your area.

It’s the reverse of home de-winterization. To winterize, you purge your plumbing system (including your water heater and all piping) of water. Some experts also recommend filling fixtures with an antifreeze solution. Other tasks involve winterizing sprinklers, sealing foundation vents, check weatherproofing around doors and windows, and more.

Installing solar panels involves drilling small holes in your roof to secure the solar panel mounting brackets. These brackets hold the solar panels in place and must withstand strong weather conditions so they’re secured into your roof. However, holes and screws are sealed to prevent leaking and further damage.
