"Excellent. David and his team worked with me throughout the entire process. A received a prompt call from David after my initial inquiry. He answered all my questions and worked with me through the entire process (even when I had changes.) He was prompt and on-time every day and was even ahead of schedule with my specific time-frame for a big deck. He's a hard worker with attention to detail and exceeded my expectations. From my experience and interactions, he has a lot of integrity. David was accommodating through some of my changes mid-stream and was a pleasure to work with. After reading reviews from others, I can say that I was not disappointed. I would not hesitate to hire Fiber-Coat Deck Co. again for my next project and would recommend them to my friends. Thank you, David. A job well done. The deck looks awesome Work done: remove asphalt shingles, clean up and secure existing nails, lay down and screw in T&G plywood, install multi-layer deck coating (metal lathe, concrete overlay, fiberglass coating, fiberglass sheets, resin, texture, final deck coating/color)."

"We had In-Line do the following projects for us:
  1. 1.Pour concrete on the left side of the house where there was previously just dirt and gravel

2. Break up concrete on the other side of the house, as well as breaking up concrete in front of the house to fix an old drainage problem from the previous owners. This resulted in a nice, seamless concrete layout from the front to the side of the house.
3. Build a short planter wall in the yard to help correct some weird gradient issues
4. Fix a cinderblock wall on the right side of the house that was poorly doen by the previous owners, basically rendering access to that side of the house useless?even though there was an existing gate there.
5. Fix a short wall between our neighbors house that became dislodged
6. Place ledgestone on the front of the house, as well as on top of a short cinderblock wall (the face of it). On that short wall, he also installed matching wall caps
Overall, the project went very well. There were a couple hiccups but that?s to be expected, as no remodeling/construction job ever goes exactly to plan. We enjoy working with Steve and his crew because they are professional, always on time, and leave the job site clean every day.

Look forward to our next project with him!

"The GoodFellas Construction Team is the best. We have a new home in a new unfamiliar area so we asked our neighbor and she said she had a room addition from GoodFellas Construction and was gushing about the service and the new room. I wanted to renovate everything. The GoodFellas Construction Team helped me completely re-do my kitchen which included; custom cabinets with design specific drawers, granite countertops,  backsplash (subway tile), recessed lighting,  island addition and etc.,), we also had the floors re-done and added a farm house slide door to create separation between our kitchen and laundry room. We also two bathrooms that they worked on which included; new vanities with granite countertops and tile flooring. We also updated the plumbing and electrical because light dimmers are a must for the kitchen, and we were due for some new plumbing.
The Team was very professional, honest, and responsive. We were in touch almost every day and he kept me up to date on the status of the project. The renovation process took 2 months since there was some complications with the city but my project manager made sure everything worked out and I could tell he genuinely cared. The GoodFellas team made sure that I was in constant contract during the remodel.
Everyone that comes over to my place LOVES how everything turned out, especially the exquisite tile work in the kitchen back splash, the floors and the worksmanship in the two bathrooms. I've recommended the GoodFellas to all my friends and neighbors and will continue to do so because they are so amazing.

Update! We had a problem with one of the recessed lighting and gave them a call and they sent someone right out to look at the light and fixed it on the spot no problems at all!"

Deck Maintenance questions, answered by experts

Yes. Composite decking is resistant to moisture and freezing temperatures, so it’s an ideal material to use in particularly cold or damp seasons. You can install this type of decking throughout the year since it does not warp or split in the cold.

You should refinish your deck to maintain its appearance, durability, and longevity. Refinishing your deck protects the wood from foot traffic and the elements. It also helps extend its life span by keeping rot, mildew, and termites at bay. By maintaining your deck, you can avoid the cost of replacing your deck sooner. A refinished deck also looks great and restores some of its original beauty.

A deck doesn’t have to be perfectly level. Many pros even recommend a gentle slope to ensure proper drainage and increase longevity. The ideal gentle slope is about 1/8 to 1/4 inch per foot away from the property, leading water away from the home to prevent pooling and reduce the risk of damage. It also minimizes rot, mold, and other moisture-related problems.

PVC decking can get slippery when wet because it’s made from plastic. However, composite and wood decking can also be slippery when wet. It’s best to wear shoes with grippy soles when walking on a wet deck, no matter the material, and to be extra cautious not to slip and fall down.

Footings for ground-level decks need to be at least 12 inches deep, and some areas require them to be even deeper. A standard range for deck footings is anywhere from 12 to 48 inches. The minimum footing depth is determined by an area’s frost line and soil conditions. If you’re unsure how deep to install deck footings, check local building codes to find the minimum footing depth in your area.
