We have five units with water leak problem when the rain is little excessive. I contacted CA Construction Center with "A" ratings with Angie's List. A good start. A survey was made of the leak problem of affected units and, as I must, asked for a "ball park" cost estimate to inform the HOA Board. The owner refuse to do so because he has to tear down the walls around all the leaky areas for proper assessment. This was on a Saturday and he promised some response by following Monday or Tuesday. There were no contact. Any extensive project or repair work would require staying within certain limits and thus would require some form of estimates instead of an open ended billing that may go far beyond the budget limit. Since the company was in construction, that they would be able to give some idea as to cost of the project but his argument persisted and I was sort of "cast aside" as not a good income producing prospect. I could not agree to "just fix it and charge me whatever you want at the end." I, as a HOA President, have a fiduciary responsibility to use the HOA fees with due diligence. There were no response on Monday or Tuesday. I finally called on Thursday and the owner said they were busy with other project and would not be able to continue our project! I already had a sense this will happen and I probably would not have hired them anyway, but their approach seems so odd and totally unprofessional I thought I'd let you all know how I felt about the whole thing.

He is an expert in Home Security, with many years of experience in the home security industry. Highly recommended by many of my neighbors. I had an ADT system that was about 7 years old. I wanted to convert the system over to Moore Protection for monitoring. I also wanted to add cellular back-up to my current telephone land line monitoring. Don evaluated my system and told me I really didn't need to add anything, but quoted me a very fair price for the cell back-up equipment. For the alarm conversion to his monitoring, there was a minimal charge. Monthly monitoring charge was about a dollar more per month than I was paying ADT. No pressure to sign any long term contracts. Appointment was made and his service tech arrived right on time. Checked out and tested the entire system. Installed the new equipment. I am very pleased with the work and feel more confident in dealing with a local business and it's owner. No more calling a customer service department in another state. I'm sure some security companies would have tried to sell me an entirely new system, and the multi-year monitoring contract that goes with it. Glad I went with Moore Protection. Excellent experience. I appreciated getting to interface so much with the owner, Chris. He was the person I would always speak to on the phone and he was on the job every day. When he came out to give me an estimate he spent a lot of time explaining the process and the materials they would be using. Chris and his crew delivered exactly what he said they would, a high quality, straight, strong, well built fence. The job had to be delayed, after it was started, because of the rain and Chris kept in close contact, calling every morning. This helped me feel secure that they would be back as soon as the rain subsided and the ground was dry (which they were). He explained that they would not do the job in bad weather/land conditions because that would have left me with an inferior product. He fixed our 3 wrought iron gates, which had not worked for 10 years, and it is such a joy to be able to open and close them properly, again! Also, I was really impressed with their follow through, they spent a long time cleaning up after the fence was built and left our property looking great!

Go Pro also rebuilt a stair unit, all handrails, detailed the mid-way landing of the stairs with a concrete pad and brick outline as well as built an extra storage space under the stairs. They also performed some interior repairs to lathe and plaster walls and ceilings and were always respectful of the tenants. That was very quick! These were my first words, when the move was completed. Indeed, the move was quick land as a result I ended up paying even less than initially estimated. But let’s begin from the very beginning. When I called to book the date, I was treated like a valued customer by the manager, who was very polite and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and even provided me some information that I’ve never heard of before. That’s when I understood that this company is straight with its customers unlike those numerous flaky companies that pop up in the Internet every day and disappear the next day. Then I received an e-mail with their quote and some more e-mails from other moving companies. The e-mail from Adept contained much useful information and answers to many questions that I didn’t even have at that time. 1 day before the moving date, same manager called me to confirm my reservation. Next day, the movers arrived at my ex-home right on time. I liked those guys from the very beginning. Nice, slim but strong, smiling, polite and … they spoke English. What a relief when compared to my previous experience with a different company. They followed all my instructions, labeled fragile items, put my plants separately, packed my electronic devices and arranged everything in their truck, and then headed to my new home. They arrived before me, and when I came I saw them working hard. They didn’t look tired...they looked very energetic! The placed the furniture items where I instructed them, unpacked everything and assembled the disassembled bed and couch. And when the last item. which was my “beloved” upright piano, was moved from their huge truck and placed in my new house, I recognized that the move was completed. I paid the guys, tipped them well and said good-bye. That’s basically it. Long story short, everything was done very professionally. Next time I’ll move, I’ll definitely choose them. Recommend this company to everyone. Thank you so much Adept! Love you guys! At the estimate, Tony arrived on time, surveyed the property, made good recommendations for the number and location of cameras and gave us an estimate. We already had an excellent recommendation for his services and had one other estimate, which was twice the cost, so we went with Tony. Tony...

"Gallagher Grading did an excellent job removing 60 tons of landslide debris in two days. All excavation to dig out retaining walls, stairway, a garage and scraping and cleaning mud off my driveway was done with utmost care and no damage was incurred. Edward and his men were professional, prompt, quiet, well-mannered, and responsible. High work ethic coupled with very competitive and transparent pricing makes this company not to miss. No hidden charges, no price inflation. Job was run smoothly and efficiently and all precautions were made, taking the size of the 10 ton load trucks, not to disturb my neighbors here in Bel Air. For all excavation and grading services, I would highly recommend Gallagher Grading."

Land surveying can help give clear guidance on your property boundaries for numerous situations. And in some cases, having your land surveyed is a requirement. Some common reasons to have your land surveyed include:
Planning for construction projects, like building a fence
Locating utilities, such as plumbing fixtures
Settling property line disputes
Creating subdivisions
Meeting mortgage requirements
Selling your property
Land surveying costs about $530 for the average homeowner. However, your total cost could range anywhere from $200 to $1,000 or more. Factors like the size of your property play a significant role in what you pay, but other things like the survey type and the time of year can also impact the final cost.
For example, if you’re looking for a simple boundary survey, you can expect to pay between $100 and $600. However, if you want a more in-depth survey that depicts the elevations of your hills and trees, you can expect to pay between $500 and $1,200 for a topographic survey.
A few different types of land surveys can help determine certain features and boundaries of your property. These include:
Boundary surveys describe the actual borders of a property. These are generally required when trying to get construction permits issued.
Location surveys provide much of the same information as a boundary survey but also include in-depth information about any improvements made to your property.
Mortgage location surveys are usually required by lenders and title companies before financing or offering an insurance policy.
Site-planning surveys are done before applying for building permits and can be issued before any major home improvements.
Topographic surveys provide a formal map of land elevations. It can also describe the location and size of natural features and any land improvements.
Land survey reports provide a lot of helpful information about your property and land. The exact information provided depends on the type of survey you have done, but common information that they can provide includes:
Location of utility fixtures
Clear boundaries and dimensions of your property
General topography
Land elevation information
Confirmation of easements or encroachments
Land surveys don’t technically expire. They do serve as a point of reference and a snapshot of your property, though, so as soon as you make changes to your property (and even if your neighbor makes certain changes to theirs), your existing land survey becomes inaccurate, and a new one must be done. Even if you don’t make any changes to your property, many states only guarantee the accuracy of a land survey for five to ten years.
