"First repairman got unit started by replacing capacitor and a switch. I asked him to check the coolant level and he said it was fine. 3 days later I had them back because although running it was not cooling. The new guy discovered that it was almost empty of refrigerant. He tightened a valve which he suspected of leaking. I am still not sure how we got from completely fine to empty. The second and I think more senior tech took the time to check out the entire system. They were quick to respond and eventually fixed it. Thought price was high at almost $1,000 for both visits.They were professional and communicative."

He wiped off his soda water bottle and asked “which pipes?” !!"

"We needed a plumber to investigate a mysterious plumbing incident: water welling up by our front door that ceased when we turned off the water softener that was in its recharging phase. We suspected a break in the drain. After consulting Angie’s List and noting that the 229 reviews of plumbing work by Express Sewer & Drain were over 92% positive, we called to make an appointment. Fortunately, one of their plumbers, Armando Cota, was in Davis that day. Armando did a thorough investigation of our property, both inside and out. He had us run water, flush toilets, check water pressure, look for leaks. When none of this shed light on the situation, he agreed that we should run a camera through the drain to look for breaks beyond the area where the water had appeared. We watched as he withdrew the camera: no breaks. By then, Armando had spent considerable time puzzling over the situation and, we all agreed, that as Davis has just converted from an underground water supply to river water, we would simply discontinue using the softener. He gave us an estimate to check our water line, should it begin to appear that this was the culprit. The cost for what seemed like nearly an hour’s work – nothing! What he gained instead was our future loyalty for prompt, thorough, professional service.
